September 1st – Training Camp
Emphasis: Get in shape. Want to arrive at training close to game shape.
Yoga: 3x per week (1 hour) – Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday
Weight lifting with emphasis on core & balance: 3x per week (1hr) – Monday/Wednesday/Friday Basketball workout: 6x per week (2x day) (1hr) – Monday through Friday
• Keep progressing through balance exercises in warm up
• Shooting should have improved. Ramp up intensity
• Must make shots and stay discipline when tired
• Keep tracking Embiid 100
• Post work is live
• Time or goal to every drill. If not met, quick running
• Include more full court drills
• Post play, wing footwork, ball handling, finishing in the morning, shooting in the afternoon
• Sundays are off
Obviously, the decisions on Joel’s calendar will be made together with Joel, his agent, and the 76ers coaching staff and front office. This schedule can be altered to fit Joel’s personal engagements and vacation periods. Location of those workouts will differ to make it as easy as possible for Joel.
