arkansas marathon

Booneville is home to the Arkansas Marathon. The
marathon is one of the oldest and most unique
marathons in the South. It takes place in mid-
October right when the temperatures drop from
the scorching heat of summer, making it the perfect
time of year for a run.
The race is not crowded, parking is easy,
the scenery is great, and the finish line is the middle
of October Daze (Booneville’s annual fall festival).
While you are running you may be joined by a deer,
turkey, squirrel and a rabbit or two. The road course
takes you along the northern border of the Ouachita
National Forest and is an out and back course with
beautiful rolling hills.
Since the race finishes is in the middle of the
October Daze, your friends and family can shop,
eat, and listen to music while waiting to cheer you
through the finish line.
While you’re out on the course, there will be plenty
of volunteers along the way to hand you a ice-cold
water and cheer you further down your journey.
