booneville fIELD TRIALs

A field trial is a competition for hunting dogs to test their
levels of skill and training in retrieving or pointing.
Booneville held their first field tail in 1986 with the running
of the Southland All-Age Classic.
A lot has changed since then: more then 45 acres of food
strips for the bird, 12 miles of maintained roads and trail
courses and hundreds of acres of land has been bush
hogged. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission have
two employees that maintain it.
The National Championship Irish Setter, National Brittany
and Championship and National German Shorthaired
Pointer among others use the facility throughout the year.
