WEEKLY
• Clearing of switch room & riser rooms.
Switch • Cleaning of cable trench / condition of cable trench (ensure clean, water free
Room and slab cover – ok).
Including • Ensure anti vermin wire mesh is in good condition – repair if damaged.
Riser Room • Ensure no water flowing into Switch Room / Riser room – repair if leakage /
damaged.
• Ensure wiring and electrical fittings, power points, light fittings and exhaust fans
working properly.
• Ensure duct seals is in good condition – repair if damage.

WEEKLY
• Ensure all indicator light, selector switches, voltmeter, ammeter, power factor
meter working properly – replace if faulty.
• Record readings for maximum current, voltage, power factor, etc into the log
Main Switch book and take necessary action.
Board / • Ensure cable insulation, cable box, cable terminations and other related
Sub-Switch connections in good condition. Replace / repair if required.
Boards MONTHLY

• Ensure earthing system and all terminations, connections working properly –
repair / replace if faulty.
• Check copper busbars and ensure that is in good condition – replace / repair if
damage.

PER 3 MONTHS

• Check condition and clean / vacuum internal part of the DB.
• Ensure that DB no. / name plate, “Danger” and updated schematic diagram are
available and readable / visible.
Distribution • Inspect and ensure spares ways are available in the DB.
Board (DB) • Tripping test for MCB – ensure that is working perfectly – replace if faulty.

YEARLY
• Retighten fuse handle – replace if necessary.
• Test on continuity of fuses – replace if faulty.
• Clean internal part of the distribution board.

YEARLY

Fuse • Continuity test on fuse – replace with correct rating if damage / faulty.
Switches / • Retighten fuse carriers.
Switch • Clean contacts with clean dry cloth to ensure good contact.
Fuses • Retighten all connections / termination to prevent from any sparking when
loaded.
• Inspect cover for any damage – replace or repair if damage.
• Ensure switch handle is in good condition, replace if damage.
