Man Shot Outside Of Chicken Restaurant
‘Friendly’ Robber
Missing Mom, Son Found Safe

Tampa Police report that a man was shot outside of the Church’s Chicken Restaurant on Hillsborough Avenue and 32nd Street Sunday morning.
At 5:42 a. m., an officer was flagged down by Kirk Shep- ard, 48, who told the officer he had been shot by an un- known Black male a 12:30 a. m.
During an interview with Shepard, he told police he didn’t call right way because he was intoxicated and wanted to continue drinking. He later changed his story and advised that he was actually shot in the area of 32nd Street and Mo- hawk, behind the Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Two People Wounded In East Tampa Shooting
‘One-Eyed Monster’ Arrested For Sexual Assault And Murder Of Recent College Grad
Jasmine Wright was a murdered in her apartment. James Har- ris was arrested.
On Thursday at 11:40 p. m., Tampa Police were called to 2504 East Lake Avenue on a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found Michael Graham, 19, suffering from a single gun- shot wound.
The investigation revealed the shooting occurred at 29th Avenue and Potter Street in an open field on the east side of the street.
Graham, along with Mikol Vanright, 18, and Corey Thornton, 19, were in the field when two Black males jumped from the bushes. One of the suspects opened fire and Graham and Vanright were hit in the upper body. The sus- pects fled on foot.
Police said Vanright and

Graham were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives are still working to identify the two suspects in- volved in the shooting.
PHILADELPHIA, PA -- A Philadelphia man, sometimes referred to as the ‘one-eyed monster’ has been charged with rape and murder after sneaking into her apartment and allegedly attacking her while she was talking to her mother on the phone.
James Harris, 56, who po- lice described as a 'monster', had been a maintenance man in the building and is said to have waited in the home for thirty minutes before his vic- tim, Jasmine Wright, 27, got home.
Her mother was reportedly
able to hear bits of the July 15 attack on the young woman who recently graduated from Drexel University School of Public Health.
Harris was previously served time in prison for the 1982 killing of his own father, who was found beaten with gunshot wounds in his head.
Police say that he lived three doors down from Wright be- fore being evicted a week prior to the incident.
The owner of the building never got keys back from the maintenance man, who had lost his job after failing to take out the trash.
KIRK SHEPARD .....took five hours before he called police.

The Tampa Police Depart- ment is currently searching for a man in connection with three robberies. The incidents all took place within the two weeks.
According t0 police, the first incident took place on July 20th, around 3:30 a.m., at 2901 E. Busch Blvd. The suspect en- countered the victims at the pool and began a conversation with them. When he went back to their hotel room, he de- manded money at gunpoint, and robbed them of a wallet.
In the second robbery on July 22nd, at 12:30 a.m., the suspect was at the same location, and used the same manner of ap- proach. He demanded money at gunpoint, and robbed them of a watch, iPhone and keys to a rental car. The victims were tourists from Italy.
The third robbery took place at 17621 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., at a 7-11 Store. The man ap- proached a victim pumping gas and engaged him in conversa- tion. When the victim tried to end the conversation, the sus- pect jumped into the passenger seat, and pointed a gun at the victim. Then made the victim drive to his home, and made the victim’s mother, niece, and nephew get into the car at gun- point.
They went to an ATM to with- draw money and the victim held a gun to the head of an 8- year-old.
Police said one of the victims was pistol-whipped and the suspect seems to get more vio- lent with each crime.
Man Charged With May 4th Murder
MARSHALL HARRIS .....charged with murdering Charles Ferrell.
Clearwater Police homicide detectives have charged a 35- year-old man with the May 4th murder of another man.
Police said Marshall Harris is being held without bond after his arrest Thursday afternoon at 1120 North Betty Lane.
Harris is charged in the shooting death of 51-year-old Charles Ferrell, wow as found dead inside an abandoned house at 806 Osceloa Avenue. He died from blows to his head and face with an old-style televi- sion and with a glass jug. His chest also was stomped.
Lakeland Police were look- ing for Javier Nicholas Cruz, 1, and his mother, Ty- neshia Durr, 24, but now re- port that both have been found and are safe.
Javier had been last seen in
the 1300 block of West 14th Street.
Police were investigating re- ports that Durr had made threats against herself and her son.
Held Gun To Head
Accidental Shooting Death Sends Man To Jail For 15 Years
A central Florida man who reportedly told detectives he was playing with a gun when it fatally shot someone has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
As part of a deal, Derek Lavonte Scott, 23, pleaded guilty to manslaughter with a firearm Friday. He had been facing a second-degree murder charge.
Officials said Scott had been watching a movie with several other people at a Lakeland home in 2010. He was moving the safety back on a handgun when he shot another man, Courtney Bomar, in the head.

Scott wiping the gun off be- fore running from the house. The gun was reportedly found later in some plants outside of a house and Scott was found an hour later.
