Crime Tampa Man Fatally Wounded

After Quarrel
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is searching for a teenager in connection with several burglaries in the West Tampa area. The suspect is be- lieved to be between the ages of 16 and 17.
He has been seen on sev- eral videos riding a mountain bicycle and wearing a back- pack. He is a Black man with an Afro.
The teenager is suspected of committing 9 burglaries. He often entered the homes through unlocked windows or unlocked garage doors.
During the burglaries, cash, credit cards, and checks were taken. In some cases, the home was ransacked, police said.
Man Accused Of Robbing, Shooting Cab Driver

A cab driver is recovering after being shot during an at- tempted robbery. The offense took place at the intersection of N. Nebraska Avenue and E. Se- ward Wednesday.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the victim, Dieunal Cherisca, 43, of Tampa, had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening in- juries. The shooting took place at approximately 11:25 p.m.
Cherisca reportedly told police that a man attempted to rob him at gunpoint. The two men struggled and Cherisca was shot. The suspect then fled the scene.
Police established a perime- ter around the area and located a possible suspect nearby. Based on their investigation, Stephon Dye, 19, was found hiding in a nearby business. An encounter with a K9 Unit re- sulted in Dye being injured. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment before being taken to the Hillsbor- ough County jail.
He will be charged with ag- gravated battery with great bodily harm and robbery, po- lice said.
The family of Markeis McGlockton has hired a prominent attorney to repre- sent them. Attorney Ben Crump represented the par- ents of Trayvon Martin, who was killed by George Zimmerman in a case that drew national attention.
During a press confer- ence, Attorney Crump said, “We are representing the family of Markeis Mc- Glockton. We are here with his family who are now his voice.”
Attorney Crump said McGlockton was protecting his family at the time he was fatally wounded. “We want justice for this cold-blooded murder by this self-appointed wanna-be-cop.”
He further stated that McGlockton was killed in the presence of his girlfriend
Police are currently inves- tigating a shooting that left a Tampa man dead. The shoot- ing took place in the 8100 block of N. Mulberry Street, at approximately 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the Tampa Police Department, 28-year- old Sergio Rashad Green became involved in a dispute with another person while at the location. At some point, the suspect is said to have fired a gun in Green’s direc- tion and then fled the scene.
Green was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his wounds.

the suspect and no arrests had been made at press time. However, detectives said the investigation is active and
ongoing.

Two 18-year-old men are facing several charges in con- nection with a burglary and shooting. The incident took place Monday evening.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects used a rock to shatter the bedroom window of the home on Whispering Hammock Dr., in Riverview. The suspects then entered the back bedroom of the home.
At that point, James Murray, 48, the son-in-law of the homeowner arrived. Murray is employed with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office in Hattiesburg, Missis- sippi.

fied as Kevin Antonio Nor- iega Cruz and Jovanni Chrstian Lozano, ran from the home with Murray in pursuit. At some point Nor- iega Cruz is alleged to have fired one shot from a hand- gun at Murray.
Deputies responded to the scene and both suspects were located with the assistance of the helicopter and K9 Units, and arrested.
They are facing aggra- vated assault, armed bur- glary, and burglary of a structure charges.
The two are also suspects in other crimes in the imme- diate area. The investigation is continuing, police said.
Charges against a conven- ience store clerk have been upgraded after the man he shot died. The shooting took place last week.
According to police, the incident took place around 11:40 p.m., last Tuesday night. A man, later identified as Rennie Defoe, Jr., 43, of Plant City, entered the Shell Gas Station, 125 Combee Road, North in Lakeland.
Defoe is alleged to have taken 3 18-packs of Natural Ice beer, and then walked out of the store without paying for it. The beer was valued at $36.
Mehedeun Hasan, 22, co-owner of the business, re- portedly picked up a 9 mm handgun from the store office and ran after Defoe to con- front him.
Defoe is said to have thrown the beer into his vehi- cle, a 2005 white Toyota Camry, in the store’s parking lot. Hasan then caught up with Defoe, pointed the gun at him while he was in the driver’s seat. At some point, Hasan shot Defoe as he was leaving the business, police said.

crashed his vehicle at the in- tersection of East Main Street and Fish Hatchery Road, in Lakeland. Defoe was trans- ported to Lakeland Regional Health, where he was listed in critical condition. He died last Saturday.
As a result of their investi- gation, detectives arrested Hasan and charged him with shooting into an occupied ve- hicle and attempted second- degree murder. The charge was upgraded to second-de- gree murder as a result of the death.
Police said Defoe has a long history of arrests. He had been sentenced to prison four times and was most re- cently released on June 12, 2018.
