Seahawks Must Reach Deal With Chancellor
Michael Jordan Made More Money Last Year Than Ever
That Michael Jordan is cleaning up even though his playing career is over shouldn't surprise you.
That he made more money in 2014 than he did in his whole playing career? That could be an eye-opener.
It's believed Jordan makes more than $100 million per year off royalties from his Nike Air Jordan brand.
Jordan's total earnings as a player? According to Forbes, it was $94 million; per Basket- ball-Reference.com, it was $90.2 million.
Still, $100 million-plus in a

year because you created a shoe ... M.J.'s legend just keeps growing.
Bucs Travel To New Orleans In Division Contest
JAMEIS WINSTON
This Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be at the Mer- cedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans to face the Saints in each team’s first NFC South Di- vision contest.
The Saints are coming off their opening season loss to the Arizona Cardinals, 31-19, and the Bucs are also coming off their opening season loss to the Tennessee Titans, 42-14.
This time, the battling quar- terbacks will be Jameis Win- ston and Drew Brees.
Winston has gone on record saying his confidence has not been damaged after last Sun- day’s loss, and that he’s still

very excited about getting on the field and competing.
For the Bucs, linebackers Bruce Carter and Danny Lansanah, wide receiver Mike Evans, defensive end T. J. Fatinikun, cornerback Mike Jenkins, and safety Major Wright all had limited practices, but aren’t ruled out for Sunday’s contest.
For the Saints, running back C. J. Spiller returned to prac- tice in limited capacity, and three other players were held out of practice this week.
Kickoff is at 12 noon, and the game will be televised on Fox Television.
KAM CHANCELLOR
Floyd Mayweather Buys Car For Protege
He said he’d retire before, but it would seem last week- end’s bout against Andre Berto, one that he won, was the last fight. Now, the five-di- vision champ says he’s going to stay busy with helping other young talents surpass his records from outside of the ring. He’s not just training them, though, he’s also buying them cars.
“You’ve got to know when it’s time to hang it up, and it’s my time to hang up,” May- weather said.
Whether it’s in the ring or on the outside, the five-division champ is playing the same

game. He has bought yet an- other new car for yet another new talent he has discovered. According to Mayweather Pro- motions, the company running the champ’s boxing deals, An- drew “The Beast” Tabiti is a recent addition and rising star among the boxer’s groups.
In the two games in which the Seattle Seahawks played with- out All-Pro safety Kam Chan- cellor last season, they were able to walk away with a win both times. Sunday’s matchup against the St. Louis Rams, however, was a different story.
While Chancellor contin- ued his holdout in hopes of re- ceiving a new contract, the Seahawks allowed 352 yards on Sunday in their 34-31 loss to the Rams — 84.9 more than the team’s average yards allowed in 2014. Seattle was able to shut down the Rams’ rushing attack for the most part, but Nick Foles accounted for 297 yards through the air — the most passing yards the Seahawks have allowed in a regular sea- son game since last year’s Week 3 matchup against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
Making matters even worse, the Seahawks’ offense looked helpless against the Rams, put- ting that much more weight on the defense to carry the load.
Chancellor’s absence was the difference against the Rams and the Seahawks realize it, which is why he will have a new deal as soon as possible. Even with stars like Richard Sher- man, Earl Thomas and Bobby Wagner playing at a high level, I think it’s becoming pretty evident that Chancellor is the engine that really makes this Seattle defense run.
It’s only Week 1 and this could all be an overreaction to what just so happened to be a very good game between two very good teams, but if Seattle doesn’t get a deal done with Chancellor and these issues persist, I think it will be pretty obvious who has the leverage in this contract dispute.
Russell Wilson-Ciara Relationship Causing Issues For Seahawks' DJ
The Russell Wilson-Ciara relationship is causing some problems for the Seahawks' team DJ.
In an interview with Bill- board magazine, DJ DV One explains how he got the job and what his role is and talks about kind of music the team likes to hear during practice.
It seems that last topic has been an issue this season, since singer Ciara, who is dating Seahawks quarterback Rus- sell Wilson, has a child with rapper Future.
When Billboard asked DJ DV One which artists are most popular with Seattle players, this was his response:
RUSSELL WILSON And CIARA
"This year, I've been getting a lot of requests for Future. But that dynamic is weird, too, be- cause I can barely play Future with Ciara running around and that's her baby's dad.
Adam Jones Vows Not To Change Style After NFL Hands Out $35K Fine
Bengals cornerback Adam Jones said Wednesday he was fined $35,000 by the NFL for slamming Raiders receiver Amari Cooper's head into his helmet during the teams' Week 1 matchup Sunday in Oakland, California.
Jones, who previously told ESPN that he didn't expect a punishment, said he will appeal the fine, given for hitting a de- fenseless player.
Jones said his other persona surfaces only during games, so blame Pacman for slamming Amari Cooper's head into his helmet on Sunday, drawing a $35,000 fine, Coley Harvey writes.
"It's way too much," Jones said Wednesday, adding, "$35,000 is a lot of money for a guy out playing football. But it is what it is.
Cameras caught Jones on top of Cooper, the Raiders' top draft pick, slapping at the wide receiver's helmet hard enough that it came off. As

soon as it did, Jones grabbed Cooper's head and slammed it once into the receiver's hel- met while Cooper was on his back underneath the veteran cornerback.
Jones and Raiders offensive tackle Austin Howard were both given unsportsmanlike conduct penalties as part of the post-play extracurricular activ- ity. After Jones slammed Cooper's head into his hel- met, Howard came over and tried to retaliate by pushing Jones off the receiver.
