Diana Ross To Do Cameo On ‘Empire’?
Diana Ross has been in talks for a cameo role on the Fox hit "Empire.”
The legendary diva has had discussions with the show’s co- creator Lee Daniels about appearing on the show, which starts its second season on Sept. 23. And Ross seems to be into the idea.
Before performing at last week’s Toronto Film Festival AMBI Gala, she told the Globe and Mail of the idea of joining “Empire”: “That would be wonderful.”
When asked who he would most like to see on the show in June, Daniels replied, “Diana Ross. I’m obsessed with Diana Ross.” Even Taraji P. Henson, who stars

Lifetime is set to do it again. After producing biopics about R&B stars Aaliyah and Whit- ney Houston, the cable chan- nel is set to air a movie about the life of Toni Braxton. Un- like with Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B and Whitney, this time filmmakers have full authoriza- tion to make the movie about the artist being portrayed,
According to Variety, the original movie will be based on Braxton’s memoir Un-Break My Heart. That will also serve as the title of Lifetime’s film. Vondie Curtis-Hall is set to direct with production beginning later this year.
Braxton is taking on the role of executive producer, and the 7-time Grammy winner will
TONI BRAXTON
appear in the film as well. The movie will cover the Maryland native’s struggles with severe chronic illness, financial trou- bles and divorce. Un-Break My Heart will also address Brax- ton managing her son’s autism.

The 14th anniversary of R&B songstress Aaliyah’s un- timely passing was on August 25th, and her family has launched a fragrance in her honor called Aaliyah by Xyrena.
Her mother and brother Diane and Rashad Haughton collaborated with Xyrena, a new vegan and cru- elty-free, L.A.-based fragrance company to create a fragrance inspired by various scents Aaliyah wore.
“Aaliyah by Xyrena is uni-
sex but leans masculine, as Aaliyah favored traditional men’s scents in line with her signature, sexy tomboy image. The formula is also a hue of black which was Aaliyah’s fa- vorite color. Aaliyah by Xyrena has base notes of vanilla, sandalwood, amber, and jasmine; middle notes of black pepper, violet and leather; with top notes of mint, lavender and mandarin. 5% of all sales from this release will be donated to The Aaliyah Me- morial Fund.”
