New Mt. Zion M. B. Church Celebrates 115th Anniversary
 The Couples’ Ministry of New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Deacon Leroy Lane as president, gave leadership to the celebra- tion of the church’s 115th Anniversary. Rev. Larry L. Roundtree, II, is the Pas- tor.
There were several events leading up to the celebration. The Anniversary Banquet was held on Friday evening, Oct. 6th, in the Rev. Dr. Walter J. Williams Life Center.
On Saturday, Oct. 7th, the FAMU and University of South Florida Gospel Choirs were in concert at the church.
Sunday, Oct. 8th, was Family and Friends Day. The FAMU Gospel Choir pro- vided music for the 11 a. m. worship serv- ice.
The following weekend, was Anniver- sary Sunday, Oct. 15th. Two services were held. The speakers were mentors to Rev. Roundtree. Rev. Dr. Samuel Maxwell, Pastor/Teacher at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, was the 10 a. m. speaker. Rev. Dr. Wallace Harts- field of Texas was the 4 p. m. speaker.

The youth of the church acted out scenes as former pastors of New Mt. Zion and their families.
Zoie Mulkey, Lesley Miller, IV, Ethan Johnson and Basha Johnson repre- sented a pastor and his family.
At Family and Friends Day service were: Bonnie Dukes, Ruth Anderson Hires and Shonda Lockwood.
Rev. Dr. Samuel Maxwell, 10 a. m. speaker, Dr. Wal- lace Hartsfield, 4 p. m. speaker, and Rev. Larry L. Roundtre, II, Pastor.
The Daughters of Zion Liturgical Dance Group, cho- reographed by Kandace Nunn-Johnson, of Kan Dance Studio, performed during the service.
      A portion of the 10 a. m. service was “Pastors on Parade,” narrated by Barbara Wright (shown) and Dea. Clarence Fort.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar (Barbara) Jones, members of the Couples’ Ministry, made a presentation.

Former professional NBA player, visiting from Puerto Rico, Renaldo Balkman, was at the Family and Friends Day service.
