Kevin Durant Looks Back At Shot In NBA Finals Over 'Idol' LeBron James
LEBRON JAMES And KEVIN DURANT
Kevin Durant's game- clinching three-pointer over LeBron James in Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals will un- doubtedly go down as one of the greatest moments of his Hall of Fame career, and, as far as ice- in-his-veins moments go, it doesn't get much icier.
“I made the game-winning shot in the Finals against my (expletive) idol," Durant, who this week was named GQ's Champion of the Year, said of James in a recent interview with the publication. "Some- body that I really, really, really followed since I was a ninth- grade high schooler. I felt like he was passing the torch to me.”

LaVar Ball, outspoken father of Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball, has made his fair share of out- landish public remarks since he burst into the national spotlight a year ago. Among them are specific comments in which Ball has said his three sons were "born to go pro" and "all three of my boys are going to be one- and-done."
Part of Ball's prophecy has come true with Lonzo joining his hometown Lakers astheNo.2pick—withno lack of hype, of course. Dur- ing Lonzo's NBA draft media coverage in June,
LaVar was quoted as say- ing: "I gotta do this three times in a row" and "I'll be here next year" in reference to his middle son, LiAn- gelo, being an NBA lottery pick in the 2018 draft.
But NBA experts are quick to notice the difference between Lonzo and his two younger brothers. LiAngelo was a three-star recruit be- fore he signed with UCLA, and the youngest brother, LaMelo, is a four-star re- cruit but LaVar pulled him out of high school to be home-schooled because he didn't agree with the coach- ing.
Burglars hit tennis star Venus Williams' Florida home, stealing $400,000 worth of goods while she was at the U. S. Open, police said Thursday.
The burglary happened be- tween Sept. 1 and 5 at Williams' 10,000-square- foot (1,000-square-meter) home, which is in a well-to-do gated community, Palm Beach Gardens police said in a state-
ment. Police blacked out from their report what was stolen. No arrests have been made.
Palm Beach County prop- erty records show Williams and her sister Serena bought the home new in 2000. It is now valued at $2.3 million.
Venus Williams' agent, Carlos Fleming, did not re- spond to an email seeking comment. The burglary was first reported by WPEC-TV.
Looking back,
deems it "the best moment" he's ever had.
