 2nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Parade Foundation Gala Kicks Off Celebrations
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade Foundation, Inc., kicked off the weekend of celebrations in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with its 2nd An- nual Fundraiser Dinner and Gala. The event was held on January 11, 2018 at TPepin Hospitality Centre. More than 600 attended the event chaired by Sherryl J. Cusseaux.

  Popular Media personalities, Reginald Roundtree of TV and Queen Bee of Radio were Master and Mis- tress of Ceremonies, respectively.
Rev. Larry L. Roundtree, II, Pastor, accepted the award for New Mt. Zion M. B. Church for its charitable giving.
Dr. Brenda Walker re- ceived the Drum Major For Justice Award for Educa- tion.
In the area of Business, Mrs. Mae Alice Judge, owner of Total Image Beauty Salon, was recognized.
County Commis- sioner Les Miller re- ceived an award for his Public Service.
Thaddeus Bullard, also known as WWE Wrestler, Titus O’Neil received the Drum Major For Justice Award for his contribu- tions in the area of Family/Community Serv- ice. He is shown with George Streets, Jr., right.
Historian and Author, C. Fred Hearns and Community Activist, Denese Meteye James were hon- ored as Community Heroes.
Businessman Robert Cole, Sr. served as the King Parade Grand Marshal along with Chloe Coney, founder of Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa (CDC).

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence (Yvonne) Fort were among the guests. He was a 2017 honoree.

Tampa’s Chief of Police, Brian Dugan attended the event.
