50 Cent Was Among First To Accept Bitcoin Before It Became Popular
Say and think what you want about 50 Cent, but the man has been a step ahead of many artists when it came to business deals.
While people are just now trying to get their hands on a piece of Bitcoin’s pie, Fif ap- parently took a chance on the cryptocurrency four years be- fore it was the popular thing to invest in.
According to a new report, the rapper was the first artist to accept Bitcoin as payment for his album, Animal Ambi- tion in 2014. At the time Bit- coin was reportedly valued at $662/1 bitcoin equivalent.
50 Cent was first artist to accept Bitcoin payment for his music back in 2014. He earned 700 bitcoins worth $400,000 back then. Now the bitcoins cash in is worth $7 to $8.5 mil- lion.
Fans could reportedly pur- chase the album for a fraction of a whole Bitcoin.
Following the release of Animal Ambition, 50 re- portedly raked in 700 bit- coins, which is equivalent to more than $400K. It seems as though 50 sat on the cryp- tocurrency until now, which was one smart move.
Bitcoin’s value has since fluctuated to between $10K and $12K, which means whenever 50 decides to cash those coins in, he will be walking away with anywhere between $7 to $8.5 million dollars.
