Sandra Denton, otherwise known as Pepa of Salt-n- Pepa, was surprised by her bandmate, Cheryl James, family and friends who threw her a festive surprise party for her 51st birthday.
The baller surprise party kicks off a month-long celebra- tion for the rapper, and Pepa told the site that her husband, Gurps Singh Rai, was the mastermind behind the party.
Gurps pretended they were going out for a quiet dinner, but ended up at SIXTY LES in NYC with about 300 people. The website notes that guests feasted on soul food – mac & cheese, chicken wings, cup- cakes and cake. Pepa revealed that she and hubby will cap her b-day celebration later this month with a relaxing vacation in Dubai.
The hip hop legends enjoyed a career resurgence thanks to the Geico commercial that in- troduced their hit classic “Push It” to a new generation. The commercial led to an additional 50,000 sales and nearly 4 mil- lion streams of the song in the three months following the debut of the campaign, Bill- board reports.

The pair attended the opening of a Wing Stop in Harlem. Swarmed by photos, Ross nor Lira made no com- ment about their relationship status. He had a strong message for the film industry Saturday night while accepting his hon- orary Oscar at the Governors Awards: Get real about racial diversity.
The Do the Right Thing di- rector made it clear that Hol- lywood is lacking people of color in key positions.
"This industry is so behind sports, it’s ridiculous," Lee said from the podium. "It’s easier to be the president of the United States as a Black person than to be the head of a studio. Honest. Or the head of a network.
"I’m getting real here," Lee told the room filled with Hol- lywood's most powerful execu- tives and biggest stars. "Everybody here probably voted for President Obama. But when I go to offices, I see no black folks, except for the

"President, keep it going," Lee said. "I know it’s tough. We have a long way to go."
