A S---hole For One
t this point, I don’t know
if it still makes sense for any of us to continue to become bent out of shape whenever we hear about Donald Trump making insulting and demean- ing remarks toward people who can be classified as non-white.
To me that’s equivalent to being constantly dumbfounded by the idea that a caged monkey likes to throw his feces. I mean, that’s something we should ex- pect from animals who operate on a lower mental plane.
Unlike the monkey though, who acts out because he doesn’t know any better, Trump’s class- less and repugnant antics are in- spired by the sadistic joy he receives when he’s able to get underneath someone else’s skin. And that’s what makes his ac- tions even more pathetic.
Trump’s description of the African continent and Haiti as “shithole” places, whose inhabi- tants should be kept out of the United States, is simply the lat- est in a long line of the blatantly racist commentary he’s made over the last two years.
From pointing out a Black face at one of his campaign ral- lies by saying “look at my African American,” to calling Neo-Nazis good people, to insin- uating that Puerto Ricans are lazy and describing illegal Mex- ican immigrants as “rapists and murderers,” Trump’s negative and biased feelings against dif- ferent ethnic groups is well doc- umented.
So, the reality is that, him disparaging nations largely in- habited by dark-skinned indi- viduals shouldn’t be viewed as anything out of the ordinary.
Unfortunately, this is what you’re always going to get from the Archie Bunker of politics. His comments are racially tinged because that’s how most bigots communicate their opin- ions. Like a commentator on Fox News explained when this controversy first began, “Trump is saying the things that many people talk about in bars.” What he forgot to men- tion was that the bars he was re- ferring to also have “Whites Only” signs nailed to their front
doors.
To be honest, I’m beginning
to like it when Trump opens his mouth to expose his true col- ors. The more he tries to fire up his base with his racist dog- whistling, the more he’s also waking up a nation of uncon- scious Blacks who, up until re- cently, had been rocked to sleep believing that Barack Obama’s election to the presi- dency a few years ago meant that things had actually changed in this country.
The irony of it all, of course, is that in his conceit and mock- ery of those less fortunate Trump has unwittingly created a bleak future for himself and everyone who supports his igno- rance.
He may think that his wealth and complexion afford him pro- tection from divine reckoning but, with Karma having the ca- pacity to become a bitch with zero understanding, he may soon find himself in the unenvi- able position of desperately at- tempting to dig free from the bottom of a hole filled with his own bulls—-.”

And Why Not Oprah Winfrey?
o doubt, most would have expected one of Amer-
ica’s largest Black newspapers to come out with guns blazing in support of or at least in response to the possibility that celebrated superstar Oprah Winfrey had thoughts about running for the top job of the land (Presidency of the United States). We are talking about Oprah’s highly acclaimed comments at the recent Golden Globe ceremony wherein she received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement.
Instead, we waited for the storm to blow over . . . a storm that ultimately included an obvious irate cur- rent president who vowed so-to- speak that he could whip Oprah Winfrey with one hand tied behind his back. (What would you have expected him to say?).
However, what would happen if pudgy-faced billion- aire-master communicator-actress Oprah Winfrey stuck her pinky-toe into the presidential pool? Regard- less of the fact we know her footprint and almost every other thing about her, could she and we withstand the scrutiny?
Should we dare imagine the blood to be shed? Would it indeed, be worth it? Ask Hillary Clinton. We love Oprah Winfrey and do not want her defaced. But if she steps in harm’s way of supreme political candi- dacy, only our prayers and our votes could save her. Therefore, as she stands naked before a split-second world, Oprah faces a new game no longer run by politi- cians. Now the power of personality rolls the dice.
Yet, there are many who would simply say Oprah Winfrey – supreme entertainer- citizen of the world who has reaped every credit except The Nobel Peace Prize – should stay in her lane (whatever that may be). Many elders speak that way. But History laughs uncon- cerned, because it already knows the outcome. RUN OPRAH! RUN!
2018 Your Year Of Release
“Sometimes you don’t feel the weight of some- thing you’ve been carrying, until you feel the weight of its release.”
Unknown
mpowered Greetings.
I am declaring that 2018 will be a year of release for you. The weight of the things that have been holding you down are about to be lifted. In fact, one of the definitions of weight is, a heavy object. Many of you have been carrying the heaviness of
past emotional hurts.
Such hurts have caused you
to be stagnated in moving for- ward in building healthy rela- tionships with family members, forming new friendships and letting the spark of having a sig- nificant other be ignited in your life.
Holding on to these hurts, only keeps you feeling hurt. This year, is your year to let it go. It’s held you back too long from enjoying the best that life has to offer you.
Maybe you’ve been weighed down by the pain of rejection. Or, it could be that old ideas
and beliefs have held you back and kept you stuck. Others may be living a lifestyle of fun and frenzy.
Exploring things that cause you to be bound by addictive behaviors and lust of your flesh, but yet you feel shame at the same time. Honey, if it has more pain than pleasure at- tached to it, you need to let it go.
Release it and release your- self.
I am reminded of a story about a woman that had been oppressed for 18 years. This caused her to be in a bent over position and she couldn’t straighten up. One day she caught the eye of a man that spoke 7 words to her that loosed her from her condition. He touched her and she was imme- diately lifted to an upright posi- tion. And she began to give God the glory.
I just believe that, this had been her condition for so long, that she accepted it to be a per- manent part of her life. Some of you might be saying “It is what it is, to your condition and ain’t nothing you can do about it.”
Today, I want to tell you that
the same man that saw that woman, sees you. He sees all the things in life that are weigh- ing you down.
These things that are serv- ing you no purpose except from keeping you bent over and too bound to release your full po- tential. Release your mind by forgiving others and letting go of the past. Focus through med- itation and visualization on what you want to see show up in your life.
Listen, in 2018 you have to release the fear of letting go. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain. When you free yourself by releasing these weights, you would feel the weight of glory that comes from your release.
