EARLIEST “MR. WILL” WILLIAMS Entered Everlasting Life November 21, 1971
Each year, the Thanksgiving Day observance brings fond memories of the loving sacrifices our Daddy made for our family’s own needs and the needs of others, too. Also, we celebrated our Mama’s birthday on the 22nd with his favorite dessert, homemade cake and Vanilla ice cream! And excitedly, he looked forward to his vacation from working at the old U. S. Phosphate on Hwy 41! Oh what joy, the sacrifices of a loving Father!
In remembrance, vacation time for Daddy meant extra money and bonus increase on the paycheck; a visit to Quincy to see his Uncle Frank, children, Thelma, Ernest, and Annette; and to the country- side to get his favorite fig preserves our Grandma Estelle made just for him!
For our family, it meant possibly something new from the old Larmon’s Furniture in Ybor City, as needed, and Mama’s shopping money for Thanks- giving and Christmas —- Secret Santa style. And, for others, it meant showing love for his old buddies who gathered on the corner of 29th Street and Lake Avenue; and sharing his God-given skills, time and limited resources in renovating the old Pleasant Chapel Church where the family worshipped God.
Yes, our Daddy taught us by example the real meaning for Thanksgiving every day, that is, the lov- ing sacrifice of The Father, as recorded in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Oh, what joy lingers in our hearts knowing our Daddy and Mama are eternally resting in the pres- ence of the Father and the Son in glory!
Well, to join them one day, we must make a per- sonal commitment and accept the invitation to join them and be among an immeasurable crowd of wit- nesses —- the “whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Good night Daddy, and Mama, too, we will see you in the morning!
Loving you: Leatricia, Earliest, Valretha, Mag- gie, Norma, Michele, Thelma, Annette, Juanita, and all grandchildren.
