HARMON
RAY WILLIAMS
MR. OLIN DEAN NEWSOME, SR.
The homegoing celebra- tion for Mr. Olin Dean New- some, Sr. of Tampa, who passed away on Monday, Au- gust 17, 2015, will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 11 a. m. at Tyer Temple United Methodist Church, 3305 N. 15th, Tampa. The in- terment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery in Tampa.
Olin Dean Newsome, Sr. was born on March 18, 1939, in Leslie, Georgia, to the late Howard and Frances New- some.
He was preceded in death by: his siblings, Hazel John- son, Fannie Whitehead, Howard "Bud" Newsome, Jr., Lee Otis Newsome, Sr. and Lee Edgar Newsome Dean.
He was educated in the Georgia School System, and enlisted and served in U. S. Army Reserves briefly in 1957, and had an opportunity to travel throughout America.
Dean's love and passion of music, and being close to family led to his decision to elect to be honorably dis- charged in 1959.
Dean's first love was play- ing the guitar. Being one of the best to pick up a guitar, offered him many opportuni- ties to play backup in bands with the likes of, Ray Charles, Bo Diddley, Aaron Neville and other local Blues greats.
Throughout Dean's trav- els, he received Christ as his Lord and Savior and gave his life to staying in God's will. He valued and made aggres-
sive efforts to offer his musi- cal talent to local churches as means of tithing his time and talent back to God.
His musical travels led him to meeting Mildred Sherfield Newsome in Niag- ara Falls, NY, and they mar- ried in Tampa on January 10, 1965.
Dean retired from HART- Line as a dedicated bus driver in 1995. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family.
Dean was a member of local International Masonic Lodges and enjoyed the fel- lowship when his health per- mitted him to do so.
Dean leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and pre- cious wife of 50 years, Mil- dred Sherfield Newsome; son, Gernon T. Newsome of Tampa, and Olin, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Tina N. Newsome of Fayetteville, North Carolina; grandchil- dren, Deandrea N. Newsome of Durham, North Carolina, and Tiana N. Newsome of Salisbury, North Carolina; son, Laron D. Newsome and daughter-in-law, Denise R. Johns-Newsome of Tampa; first cousins, Genvea Battle of Americas, GA, and Minnie Jewel Holloway of Desoto, GA; mother-in-law, Iren Sherfield of Cedartown GA; brother-in-law, Sherman Sherfield of San Antonio, TX, and Gary Sherfield of Las Vegas, Nevada; and sister-in- law, Gloria Sherfield of Cedartown, GA.
He also leaves cherished memories with: a host of nieces and nephews that aided in the final days of his life, Frances "Frank" White- head, David Whitehead, Pearl Whitehead, Gretchen Kea-Williams, Bob Johnson, John and June Hudson of At- lanta, GA, Lee Newsome, Jr., Eddie Lee Newsome, Frank Newsome, Otello Edwards, and Howard "Big Man" New- some, III; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held prior to the start of the service on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 10 a. m. and the family will be there to receive friends dur- ing that time.

MRS. MARIE B. BENSON
Mrs. Marie B. Benson of Tampa, passed away Mon- day, August 17, 2015. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 3 p. m. at Sunset Memory Gardens, 1105 U. S. Hwy. 301 North, Thonotosassa, FL, 33592. The interment fol- low.
Mrs. Benson was a native of Savannah, Georgia, and a longtime resident of the Tampa area, where she resided in Progress Village for over 50 years.
Mrs. Benson was a mem- ber of First Baptist Church of Progress Village, where she served on the No.1 Usher Board.
She was preceded in death by Rexel Burke, who she raised as her own.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Char- lie Benson; adopted daugh- ter, Ruby Lee Benson; Debra B. Harris who she raised as her own; 32 nephews and nieces; 10 great nephews and nieces; 6 great great nephews; friends and neigh- bors which include, Mrs. Pa- tricia Chaney and Ms. Thelma Anderson; and the entire staff of The Home As- sociation Nursing Home.

MS. CARDEE’ C. JONES
Ms. Cardee’ C. Jones of Seffner, FL, passed away Au- gust 14, 2015.
She was a native of Tampa, and a graduate of Armwood Senior High School. She earned a Bache- lor of Science degree in Health Science from South University, and was expected to complete her Master’s of Public Health in December 2015 from Argosy University.
Ms. Jones was a member of Christ Fellowship of Tampa, and was employed at Brio Restaurant after a long tenure at Red Lobster.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Alcide Gerald Jones; mother, Linda (Candi) T. Jones; father, Ger- ald Jones; grandfather, Aaron Bell, Jr.; sister, Lisa M. Jones; brother, Li Gerald E. Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 11 a. m. at Brown Memorial Church of God in Christ, 2313 East 27th Av- enue, Tampa, 33610, Bishop Matthew Williams, pastor, with Elder Leroy Turner, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1105 U. S. Hwy. 301 North, Thonoto- sassa, FL, 33592.

The visitation will be held and the family will receive friends on Friday, August 21, 2015, from 6-8 p. m. at Brown Memorial Church Annex.

MR. WALTER MCMILLAN
Mr. Walter McMillan of Tampa, now resting in the "Hands of the Father", passed away Monday, August 10, 2015.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 11 a. m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa. Interment will fol- low.
Mr. McMillan was a native of Sumter, South Carolina, where he was educated by the public school system. He was a resident of Tampa, for over 45 years and was well- known in the Tampa Bay community, because he never met a stranger.
He will leave loving mem- ories with many, including: his adopted family in Tampa, caregivers, Janice and hus- band, Charlie Harris and her loving family; along with many, many other friends and acquaintances he en- countered.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m., Friday, August 21, 2015, at Ray Williams Fu- neral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p. m.
