Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Hosts Celebration
Founded on the campus of Howard University in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is the oldest Greek letter organization established in America by Black college women.
Tampa’s AKA members got together to hold a celebration at the Hilton Hotel in recognition of members who’ve been a part of the sorority for 25 and 50 years. (PHOTOS BY JULIA JACKSON)

Ms. Jewel Warren celebrates 50 years as an AKA member. She is escorted by her son.
Proudly accepting her 25- year service pin was Sonya Wise.

Attending the celebration were Mrs. Freddie Hudson and Mona Judge.
In attendance at the celebration were Cassandra Washington, Mikki Chambers-Fisher, and Phyllis Dunn.

Lucille Franklin and Eddie Chestnut attended the celebration.
AKA’s and Delta’s together showing their support to the honorees were: Artest Newkirk, Geraldine Twine, Teresa Baillou, Fontaine Marion, Kandyce B. Cox, and Jastyn Cox.
