As they return to rescue one of their own, the players will have to brave parts unknown from the deserts to snowy mountains, to escape the world's most danger- ous game. Director Jake Kasdan did a great job changing up the characters (Danny Devito, Danny Glover). This should be the last movie made on Jumanji. Uncut Gems - A New York Jeweler/Gambler (Adam Sandler) and his crew ( Julia Fox, LaKeith Stanfield) make a series of high-stakes bets that included Kevin Garnett (playing himself) which led to a dangerous fallout with the people he borrowed money from. Directors Benny Safdie and brother Josh kept this film fast-paced. San- dler should be nominated for an Oscar -best actor. Must see for drama fans. Made $24M-U.S ****
Star Wars: Episode IX-The Rise Of Skywalker - After Palpatine mysteriously returns, Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe (Oscar Isaac) and the Resistance faces Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the First Order once more in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga. Director J.J. Abrams should make sure this is the last movie in the Star Wars franchise. Still No. 1 at box office- $454M- U.S./ foreign- $472M- ***
Queen And Slim - A couple's first date (Daniel Kaluuya, Jodie Turner- Smith) takes an unexpected turn when a police officer pulls them over and things go terribly wrong. Director Melina Matsoukas (Insecure) and writer Lena Waithe (Ready One Player) put together a masterpiece. A must-see for drama fans. Made $42M-U.S.- classic
Knives Out - Detectives (Daniel Craig, Lakeith Stanfield) investigate the death of publishing tycon (Christo- pher Plummer). The detectives must figure out who in the family (Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Don Johnson, Toni Collette) killed him. Director Rian Johnson (Star Wars-Episode VIII) directed this comedy/drama of who done it. A must see for mystery fans. Made $130M-U.S/ foreign- $117M- ***1/2
21 Bridges - An highly intelligent and violent NYPD detective (Chad Boseman) is thrust into a citywide man- hunt for a pair of cop killers ( Stephan James, Taylor Kitsch) after uncovering a massive and unexpected conspiracy. Must admit this cop thriller was really good. Must see for action fans. Made- $27M-U.S-/ foreign-11M ****
Ford v Ferrari - American car designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale) battle corporate interference, the laws of physics and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford and challenge Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966. Director James Mangold did a great job with this true story. Really really enjoyed this one. Made - $110M-U.S./ foreign- $96M--****
Maleficent - Mistress Of Evil - Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) and her goddaughter Aurora (Eli Fanning) begin to question their relationship that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by impending nuptials, un- expected allies, and dark new force evil queen (Michelle Pfeiffer) at play. Surprisingly, very good. Kids and adults will enjoy this one. Made $112M- U.S./ foreign- $376M- ****
Harriet (2019) - The extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman's (Cynthia Erivo) escape from slavery and trans- formation into one of America's greatest heroes, whose courage, ingenuity, and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history. Director/actress Kasi Lemmons (Silence of the Lamb) put together an amazing story without going directly into the brutality of slavery. Meaning- you can go watch it without cringing. Must-See!
