School Employee Turned Author Has Twelfth Book Published
JANICE HARRIS
... Author of 10 Second Daily Uplift
By MONIQUE STAMPS Sentinel Staff Writer
When Janice Harris was in high school,
she loved to write. In 1983, her writing won her a 4-year scholarship from WTMP. That scholarship helped her to attain her degree from the University of Florida.
Life intervened when Harris started her family. She became focused on her life as a wife, mother, and employee of the Hillsbor- ough County School system for 35 years. Her writing was pushed to the side, buried under daily responsibilities.
In 2012, Harris decided that she had put her dream on hold for long enough. She pub- lished her first book, Looking Up Poetry, and Quotes. She has published several books since then.
Her latest book is 10 Second Daily Uplift. The book is designed to get the reader in the right frame of mind for the day.
Concentrating on inspirational and moti- vational themes, Harris’ books are enter- taining and fun as well.
“Persistence is the key to my success. Writing books isn’t easy. Everyday might be a challenge, but I made it. I know that others reading my books can also do what they want to do.”
As Harris moves toward retirement in the near future, she hopes to “rebrand” her- self by going full speed ahead with her writ- ing.
