Movie Review/Soaps/Horoscopes
The Walk - Based on a true story in 1974, high-wire artist Phillippe Petit ( Joseph Gordon-Levitt) re- cruits a team to help him re- alize his dream of walking across the World Trade Cen- ter. It took an hour before this film became interesting. Petit had to be insane to ac- tually try and pull this high- wire act off. Made $6M. (Budget $35M). ***
The Martian - After a research mission on Mars (which takes 4 years to get there), Astronaut Mark Wat- ney (Matt Damon) is pre- sumed dead by his crew after a fierce sand storm. The crew had to leave him to save themselves. Watney survives and then has to rely on his wit and spirit to sur- vive on the planet without food. Well-written sci-fi thriller . Surprisingly, very good. 2 hrs. /10 mins. long. Still No. 1 at box office. Made $108M. (Budget $108M). ****

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials - After hav- ing escaped the difficult Maze, the Gladers (Dylan O’Brien, Ki Hong Lee, Dex- ter Darden, Thomas Sanster and Kaya Scodelario) now face a new set of craziness once they flee to the desolate landscape. I thought the first movie was very good and different, but this one was more intense with non- stop action. Must-see! Made $70M. (Budget $61M). ****
The Visit - Two young children (Olivia DeJonge, Ed Oxenbould) visit their grandparents (Deanna Dunagan, Peter McRobbie) and soon find out that things in their grandparent’s lives are very creepy. Direc- tor N. Night Shyamalan (The Sign) made this film really disturbing at the end if you are a parent. Made
$61M. (Budget $5M). **** The Perfect Guy - A corporate executive (Sanaa Lathan) breaks up with her boyfriend (Morris Chestnut) and soon gets involved with a man (Michael Ealy) who seems almost too good to be true.
