North Carolina A&T And Tuskegee Top HBCU Polls
Grambling Wins Southwest State Fair Classic
Grambling QB Davante Kin- caid got busy after being down 16-0. Kincade finished the game with 207 passing yards, 105 yards on the ground and three total touchdowns.
DALLAS – Prairie View A&M University football got off to a fast start but couldn’t sustain it in losing to Grambling State 36- 16 in the Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic.
The Panthers (3-2 overall, 3- 1 SWAC) lead 16-0 in the first quarter but did not score again as Grambling scored the game’s final 36 points (3-1, 3-0 SWAC). The win at the Cotton Bowl ex- tends Grambling's winning streak in the series to three games and gave the Tigers an edge over Prairie View in the Southwestern Athletic Confer- ence's West Division.
Prairie View A&M came out of the gates with a lot of energy, but could not keep it up for 60 minutes.
Tuskegee Rallies With Comeback Win With 4 Minutes In The Game
Following a bye week before a televised Thurday night en- counter, North Carolina A&T maintained its top spot in the HSRN FCS Football Poll. Tuskegee University extended its first place position in the Di- visionII/NAIA Poll following a convincing 38-7 victory over Lane College in the Golden Tigers’ home opener.
In the Division I FCS poll, Grambling State climbed to
2nd pushing Tennessee State to 3rd. Prairie View A&M and Southern complete the top five. South Carolina State and Texas Southern entered the top ten following wins over Florida A&M and Alabama State re- spectively.
In Division II/NAIA, Tuskegee was a near unani- mous choice for the top spot, capturing 11 of 12 first place votes of the HSRN pollsters.
TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Facing what many would seem an in- surmountable deficit in the fourth quarter, the 11th-ranked Tuskegee University Golden Tigers pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in school history.
Trailing by 16 with just over nine minutes to play, Tuskegee scored 21 unanswered points in a span of 4:23 to pull out a 21-16 victory over 21st-ranked UNC- Pembroke at Cleve L. Abbott Memorial Alumni Stadium Sat- urday afternoon.
Tuskegee (5-0) for the first time 2008, when the team reeled off 10 consecutive victo- ries to start the year, trimmed the lead eight when Jayjerien Craig capped off a 12-play, 84- yard drive with an eight yard run down the right sideline with 8:32 to play in the contest. The two-point conversion was good when Craig took the pitch left and ran into the end zone to cut the deficit to 16-8.

Bethune-Cookman Goes 0-4 For First Time Since 2009
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman’s six-game winning streak over North Car- olina Central ended Saturday night as the visiting Eagles posted a 31-14 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) victory over the Wildcats at Municipal Stadium in a game delayed two hours and 46 min- utes by severe weather in the Volusia County area.
Malcolm Bell threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns and added a rushing score, while teammate Ramone Simpson added 116 yards on the ground and the final TD scamper as the Eagles (3-2 overall, 1-1 MEAC) snapped a six-game losing streak to the Wildcats (0-4, 0- 2 MEAC) dating back to 1994.

FAMU Wins Against Savannah State
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sen- ior safety Jacques Bryant was the lead hero for the FAMU Football team Saturday night, with a game-saving goal line interception to clinch a 19- 14 win over Savannah State at Bragg Memorial Stadium.
FAMU (1-4, 1-1 in MEAC) ended an eight-game losing skid with the hard-fought win, as a tough Savannah State squad (1-3, 1-1 MEAC) battled the Rattlers for four quarters.
In fact, the visiting Tigers were in the midst of a long march toward what could have been the deciding score, when Bryant’s interception and 45- yard mad dash runback into the jubilant FAMU bench ended a 12-play, 61-yard drive with 3:53 left in the game.
The Rattlers, which had sought to shake off a bitter 48- 14 home opening loss to South Carolina State just seven nights earlier, came out with a grit and determination to earn some payback from the Tigers, which stunned them 37-27 in
