Local USF Homecoming Week Unites Bulls And Community
Wrong Way Driver Charged With DUI
Performance by comedian Brent Morin and concert with rapper 2 Chainz head- line the campus festivities
Students, faculty, staff and alumni at the University of South Florida invite the com- munity to unite with them to celebrate Homecoming Week, Oct. 3-8, with a full schedule of events, including a kickoff, Stampede Comedy Show, con- cert, carnival and Running of the Bulls Parade.
The festivities, coordinated by the student-run Campus Traditions Board, start with a high-energy, pep rally-like Homecoming Kickoff begin- ning at 5:30 p. m. on Monday, Oct. 3 on the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza.
Tuesday night’s Stampede Comedy Show will be opened and emceed by USF alumna and internationally touring co- median Jessica Michelle Singleton, whose debut com- edy album “Please. Don’t. Leave. Me.” reached #1 on iTunes earlier this year.
Comedy Central’s Ted Alexandro and headliner Brent Morin, best known for his role in the Netflix series “Undateable,” complete the lineup. Doors open at 8 p. m.
RAPPER 2 CHAINZ ...Homecoming Concert
for the show at the USF Sun Dome. The event is free and open to the USF community and the public. No advance ticket is required.
This year’s Homecoming concert features rapper 2 Chainz on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the USF Sun Dome, with doors opening at 8 p. m. Tickets are free for USF students and they can purchase one guest ticket. Tickets for the general public went on sale Friday, Sept. 30. USF also invites the com- munity to attend the Running of the Bulls Night Parade, which is expected to feature dozens of floats, as well as nu- merous watch parties along the campus parade route. The pa- rade begins at 6:45 p. m. on

Friday, Oct. 7 on Holly Drive, near the Marshall Student Cen- ter, then proceeds to Maple Drive, before turning right onto Alumni Drive.
Other events on campus throughout the week include a carnival, student talent show- case, USF men’s and women’s soccer games, alumni gather- ings, a canned food drive and the kickoff of Family & Friends Weekend.
The week concludes with the USF Football team’s game against East Carolina on Satur- day, Oct.8 at noon at Raymond James Stadium. Tickets can be purchased at http://usfbull- stix.com/.

A 26-year-old Tampa woman was arrested Friday night and charged with two counts of DUI with property damage. She was treated at a local hospital before being booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Ms. Dezelle P. Bennett, of Tampa, was driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 westbound on U. S. 41. She was traveling westbound when she at- tempted to access State Road 618, via the eastbound ramp.
After realizing she was meeting oncoming traffic, Ms. Bennett reportedly steered to the outside shoul- der of the road. She contin- ued to travel through on the curbed grass median that separated the off and on

ramps. She collided with guardrail, and finally stopped after hitting a piece of road construction equipment, po- lice said.
Ms. Bennett was trans- ported to Tampa General Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Police said Ms. Bennett appeared to be highly intoxi- cated and refused to take a breath test.
