Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty
Manslaughter Charge Added To Suspect Already In Custody
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that on August 5th at 8:05 a. m., a man arrived at the Stop ‘N Shop, 1201 East 142nd Av- enue, and saw a bicycle out- side of the store hat looked like one that was stolen from him a year ago. The suspect went in- side the store and asked who the bike belonged to.
When the victim, Armin Agiler-Velazco, 48, went outside and unlocked the bicy- cle, the suspect confronted Velazco and punched him in the face, knocking him out. The suspect then left the scene with both bicycles.
Velazco was transported to a local hospital, and the sus- pect, identified as Darnell

Lee Flournoy, 47, was lo- cated and arrested. He was charged with felony battery and robbery.
On August 10th, the victim died at the hospital and Flournoy’s was charged with manslaughter.
Suspect Robs Same Store Twice

This is a surveillance photo of a man who allegedly robbed the same store twice.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying a suspect who robbed the same store twice.
Detectives said on two occa- sions, the suspect entered the store armed with a handgun, and demanded money from the clerk. After getting the money, he fled on foot.
The first robbery occurred July 30th and was at the Citgo Station, 930 U. S. Highway 92 in Seffner.
In the second August 8th
robbery, the suspect had a ve- hicle waiting on Taylor Road and fled in what was described as a dark colored Dodge Stra- tus, 2000 to 2006 model with a donut spare on the front pas- senger side.
The suspect’s race could not be determined, but he was de- scribed as 5’6” to 5’10” tall with a medium build, wearing all black clothes and a black tee-shirt with white imprint over his head and face. He was also reportedly armed with an unknown handgun.
On August 11th at 6:15 p. m., deputies responded to 8429 W. Camden Street on a report of a dead puppy in the yard. When deputies arrived, they could see 7 pit bull puppies about 6 weeks old and an adult female pit bull feeding on a dead puppy.
Detectives made contact with the dog’s owner, 33-year-old Marangillette Viera- Rivera, who was inside the residence when deputies ar- rived.
Further investigation re- vealed there was no food or water for the dogs outside and there was no shelter from the sun.
An investigator with Hills- borough County Pet Resources responded to the scene and helped in the investigation by taking possession of all the an- imals, including a Chihuahua puppy found inside the resi- dence.
Viera-Rivera was arrested and transported to jail on a charge of animal cruelty.
Detectives Try To Identify Cell Phone Store Burglary Suspect
On August 3rd between 4:20 and 4:25 a. m., an unknown man smashed the glass in the front door of The Cellular Spe- cialist, 1515 Fletcher Avenue. The suspect entered the busi- ness, rummaged through the display cases and stolen sev- eral cell phones and a com- puter valued at $5,475.
The suspect was described as male, 5’10”, 170 to 175 pounds and was seen on video surveil- lance. It is believed he fled in a 2001 to 2007 Chrysler Town ‘N country minivan that had a

Police Identify Suspect Caught On Camera Breaking Into Car
Winter Haven detectives ob- tained a warrant for the arrest of 15-year-old Immanuel Combes in a vehicle burglary at the Winter Ridge subdivi- sion on August 7th.
Combes has been arrested in the past on charges of carry- ing a concealed firearm, drug possession with intent to sell, burglary and grand theft.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Combes is asked to call 1-800-226-8477.

Suspects Arrested In Attempted Temple Terrace Bank Robbery

With the assistance of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Temple Terrace police were able to identify two men re- sponsible for the attempted armed robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank, 9775 North 56th Street, on July 31st.
Both men, natives of Ft. Myers, were arrested Monday night and charged with at- tempted armed bank robbery.
Temple Terrace Police re- ceived a 9-1-1 call on July 31st at 10 a. m. reporting an at- tempted bank robbery. Two armed men reportedly entered the bank and unsuccessfully tried to rob the bank before
they fled in a green 2004 Volk- swagen Jettta.
The Jetta had been reported stolen from Lee County and was recovered a short time later at Florida College. At the college, the suspects report- edly set the Jetta on fire and fled in a stolen, silver 2004 Toyota Tundra.
An investigation led law en- forcement to the two suspects. Both were arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery, arson, and conspir- acy.
Charged in the offense were Kevyn L. Smiley, 28, and Mark A. Taylor, Jr., 19, both of Ft. Myers.
