William grew up in West Tampa and attended Hillsbor- ough County Public Schools. He was a graduate of King High School, class of 1983.
After graduating high school, William served in the United States Army for 4 years, where he was honorably dis- charged.
William moved to Dallas, TX in 1993, to begin a new life with his family. William later pur- sued and received his A. S. de- gree from Devry Institute of Technology.

William be- came closer to God and asked for forgiveness for his trans- gressions. Never giving up, he had aspirations of taking time to travel and live the life that he had left.
He loved to spend time at the beach, as he would take time to pray and reflect on his life. After a long fight, he lost his battle to cancer on Friday, August 7, 2015.
His family will cherish their most recent moments with William this past Fourth of July, and where he was weak he found strength in family and friends.
William was a hard worker and would always look-out for his family and friends. He had a good heart and he was happi- est around his children and grandchildren.
William was a loving father, grandfather, significant other, uncle, brother and son.
In his passing he leaves foot- prints in the sand that will be remembered by: his mother, Sharon Greene; devoted part- ner, Jackie Smith, Dallas, TX; daughters, Deidra Greene, Bradenton, FL, and Zoya Green, Dallas, TX; grandchil- dren, Michael Howard and Razya Rivers; and sisters, Sacha Greene, Tampa, and Nadia Byrd (Chad), Atlanta, GA.
