Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Accident
Motorcyclist Killed In Traffic Accident
The Clearwater Police Department investigated a traffic accident that left a man dead.
The accident took place shortly after midnight Thursday, at Gulf-to-Bay and Hercules Avenue.
According to police, the motorcyclist, identified as 23-year-old Joshua Dou-
glass, of Palm Harbor, was traveling at a high rate of speed when he reportedly collided with an SUV that was turning west on Gulf-to- Bay.
Douglass was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. The investiga- tion is continuing.
A 40-year-old man died in a traffic accident Wednesday evening. The accident took place on Ehrlich Road at the intersection of Farmington Boulevard.
Witnesses to the accident told deputies with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice that Jean Andre, of Lutz, was driving a 2001 Honda CBR900 motorcycle eastbound on Ehrlich Road shortly before 5 p.m. He was
reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed and swerving in and out of traffic as he ap- proached Farmington Blvd.
Police said the traffic light had turned red, but Andre didn’t stop. He allegedly en- tered the intersection as traf- fic on Farmington Blvd., had started turning left. Andre’s motorcycle struck the front of a 2003 Nissan Xterra, driven by Ms. Jessica Marketta, 37, of Tampa.
The motorcycle then struck the rear of an Audi A4 Sedan, driven by Raul Boucourt, 54, of Tampa.
Andre was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene. No other injuries were reported to police.
During the investigation, police reportedly found mar- ijuana and alcohol in Andre’s backpack. No charges are expected to be filed in the accident
Three-Car Pileup Leaves Driver In Critical Condition
Semi Overturns On Exit Ramp
Portions of the traffic was delayed for several hours Tuesday after this semi overturned exiting I-75.
A three-car accident Tuesday afternoon left one driver in critical condition. The accident took place at East Lake Road and Ridge- moor Blvd., in Pinellas County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Moses Lopez, 60, of Brandon, was driving a 2000 Semi with a tractor-trailer northbound on East Lake Road. As he ap- proached the traffic light at Ridgemoor, he failed to stop for the traffic light and col- lided with a 2000 Ford Ex-
plorer, driven by Jeffrey Diedrich, 32, of New Port Richey. Upon impact, both vehicles collided with a 2002 Toyota Sequoia, driven by Ms. Laura C. Desousa, 33, of Trinity. Ms. Desousa was stopped at the traffic light at the time of the accident.
Diedrich was seriously injured and transported to Bayonet Point Medical Cen- ter. No one else reported any injuries.
The investigation is con- tinuing and charges are pending, police said.
The Florida Highway Pa- trol investigated an accident that re-routed traffic for sev- eral hours Tuesday. The ac- cident took place on the northbound I-75 exit at Fowler Avenue.
According to police,

Pfaff, 29, of Ocala, was driving the 2013 Peterbilt semi-tractor on I-75. Shortly before 2:30 p.m., he exited the interstate at the Fowler Avenue exit.
However, he failed to safely negotiate the curve in the roadway.
The truck and trailer overturned and came to rest on the outside shoulder of the ramp. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
The truck was carrying concrete wall slabs at the time of the accident.
