Enlistee Graduates From Basic Infantry Training
U. S. Army Private Nicolas Londono has graduated from basic infantry training. His grad- uation ceremony took place at Fort Jackson, in Columbia, South Carolina.
During the nine weeks of training, Private Londono studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and
bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed com- bat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Private Londono is the son of Fabio and Rosa Londono, of Temple Terrace, and is a 2015 graduate of Professional and Technical High School, in Kissimmee.
Enlistee Involved In Training Of Military Dogs
YOKOSUKA, Japan --- Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Kelsey Carlton, of Clearwa- ter, rewards military working dog (MWD) Donci during training on board Fleet Activi- ties (FLEACT) Yokouska.
The canines with the MWD unit are used to apprehend sus- pects and to detect explosives and narcotics while searching buildings, ships and sub- marines at FLEACT. FLEACT provides, maintains, and oper- ates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet’s for- ward-deployed naval forces, 83

Tampa Native Named Junior Sailor Of The Quarter
SASEBO, Japan -- The am- phibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) rec- ognized four Sailors of the Quarter last month during an awards presentation in the ship’s hangar bay.
Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Daron Rose, of Tampa, was selected as Green Bay’s Junior Sailor of the Quarter.
Also being recognized were four Sailors of the Week, a new program Green Bay started up during the ship’s time in Selec- tive Restricted Availability in Sasebo, Japan.
Rose graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and also graduated from the University of North Alabama. He enlisted in the Navy Aug. 2013 and upon completion of Recruit Training Command,
MACHINIST’S MATE 3RD CLASS DARON ROSE
Rose attended Machinist’s Mate “A” School in Nov. 2013 at Great Lakes, Ill.
Rose’s reason for joining the Navy was because he al- ways wanted to be a part of a team.
Rose is the Work Center Supervisor for his division; a position that allows him to
lead junior Sailors and also al- lows him to make sure every aspect of his job field is fully operational.
Rose was selected as Jun- ior Sailor of the Quarter be- cause as the go-to petty officer for his division, Rose con- ducted emergent repairs to the ship’s pulper and executed over 300 galley and laundry trouble calls during Green Bay’s summer patrol.
Rose is the reason for Green Bay’s high quality of life. Also, as Engineering Depart- ment’s Assistant Command Fitness Leader (ACFL), Rose expertly mentored four ACFLs and administered 789 Physical Readiness Tests, which re- sulted in command-wide pass rate of 95% and 100% for Fit- ness Enhancement Program Sailors.
Four Complete Basic Combat Training
Four individuals with ties to the Tampa Bay Area recently completed basic combat train- ing. Specialist Kandace V. DeWitt, Private Luis A. Figueroa-Solivan, Private Jorcarlos Nava-Ramirez and Private Ryan J. Seufert participated in their respective graduation ceremonies at Fort Jackson, in Columbia, South Carolina.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldiers studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical war- fare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and un- armed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic
first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Specialist Dewitt is the daughter of Kerri and Robert Dewitt, of Hudson. She is a 2011 graduate of Hudson High School, in Hudson. She earned a bachelor's degree in 2015 from the University of South Florida.
Private Figueroa-Soli- van is the son of Louis Figueroa and Sarai Solivan, of Tampa. He graduated from Spoto High School in 2015.
Private Nava-Ramirez is the son of Wilma Nava, of Tampa. He graduated from Northeast High School, in St. Petersburg, in 2015.
Private Seufert is the son of Shirley D. Seufert, of Tampa, and brother of Rachel D. Seufert. He graduated from Alonso High School in 2015.

Commissioner Beckner Community Office Hours
Hillsborough County Commis- sioner Kevin Beckner, District 6, Countywide is hosting office hours in the community one day every month. These events provide residents the op- portunity to meet with the Commis- sioner, one-on-one, to share ideas and voice concerns without having to travel to County Center in downt0wn Tampa.
No appointment is necessary and residents are seen on a first-come, first- served basis.

Open House Celebration
On Saturday, November 14th from 11 a.m. to 3 p. m., SunMed Primary Care will host an open housing celebration.
Medicare’s open enrollment period is October 15th until De- cember 7th, and this is an opportunity for everyone to sign up for additional health care benefits.
Insurance representatives will be available along with other vendors for free giveaways. Refreshments and snacks will be served. There will also be free blood pressure checks.
