Embracing the Moment
BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
Patrick Alexander Jackson-Williams and the Youth Department at his church, Dominion and Power Worship Center, are embarking on a project that will benefit children at the Shriners and St. Joseph’s Children Hospitals. The young people are using the project entitled, “Giving For A Purpose,” as a fundraiser.
They are reaching out to the community to purchase an adorable, cuddly com- panion for children who are patients at the two hospitals. Eduardo the Elephant will be presented to the hos-

that he says went well. How- ever, this year he wanted to be able to deliver to 2 hospi- tals. The goal this year is to sell 200 elephants.

Lord, You are everything to me. Thank You that I can walk each moment with You and not have to figure life outonmyown.AndwhenIcometoadarktime,Ican put my hand in Yours and depend on You as we walk through it together. I know that “the upright shall dwell in Your presence” (Psalm 140:13), and that’s where I want to live. For in Your presence I will find healing, deliverance, love, peace, joy, and hope.
For our light affliction, which is but for moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and external weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:17-18
Lord, help me to embrace the moments of my life that are hard to get my arms around. Enable my eyes to see You in them. Help me to always acknowledge the abundance of Your goodness to me. I lift to You the deepest struggles in my life. I trust You to open my eyes to see all You have for me in them. Reveal to me the fullness of it all. Thank You that I can be filled with the joy of Your presence in every step I take, because You have given me the light I need for whatever step I am on.
In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and
made me bold with strength in my soul.
PSALM 138:3
Lord, help me to be content where I am right now on Your path for my life. I know You are always growing me into Your likeness and will not leave me where I am forever. I resolve to see any loneliness or lack of con- tentment in me as a sign that I need to spend more time with You. Help me to recognize Your blessings and goodness in the midst of every situation I face. Give me strength when I am weary and the fullness of Your joy when I feel sad. Help me to have an ever-increasing faith and a greater sense of Your presence in my life.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will re- vive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.
PSALM 138:7
Lord, I know that regardless of what situation I am in right now, You have an abundance of blessings for me. Right where I am, You are working powerfully in my life. Thank You for saving me, Jesus, and setting me free from all that would keep me from moving into everything You have for me. Thank You for filling me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for loving me.
The love of God has been poured out in our hearts
Live Recording Session Will Be Tribute To Dr. Arthur T. Jones
BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
Dr. Kevin “Conductor Bernard” Parrot has never personally met the late Dr. Arthur T. Jones, but he will honor his life and legacy in gospAel music dur- ing the live recording on Sunday, November 15, 5:13 p. m. The Special Tribute is to Dr. Jones and his fam- ily.
“Dr. Jones is a Florida legacy,” he explained. “He is a native of Florida and the only one that I can think of whose music we can sing and still sing on Sunday mornings. A lot of what the artists have out today is not something we can sing dur- ing worship.
“I’ve met him from afar, attended Bible-Based on nu- merous occasions, but never had the opportunity to work with him. However, I thought it no more than right than to honor him,” Dr. Parrott said.
