MS. LENA MAE GREEN
Homegoing service for Ms. Lena Mae Green, aged 70, who earned her wings and joined the angels in Heaven on the evening of Wednes- day, June 10, 2015, will be held at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 11 a. m. with her nephew from Miami, FL, Pastor Gregory Green, Pas- tor of Royal Youth 4 Christ Ministry, officiating, eulo- gist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Green was preceded in death by: her beloved mother, Zurrie Lee Green (White); as well as her broth- ers, Charles “CJ” Green and Huey Frank Green of Califor- nia.
She is survived by: her precious daughter, Dr. Sonja Green Brookins (Kelvin); her grandchildren, Ms. Shani Nicole Brookins of Mulberry, FL and Starr Linette Brookins, Esq.; her great grandchildren, Arriyanna Brookins and Jason Murphy of Mulberry, FL; her sister, Roberta Johnson of Col- orado Springs, CO; her brother, Henry Green (Olivia) of Nashville, TN; a host of nieces and nephews; her best friend, Sharon Fol- som; the son she never had, Keith Krucial; as well as a host of other relatives and friends whom she adored. Ms. Green is also survived by her cherished treasure, Princess (puggle).
Lena was born in Dothan, Alabama, on July 30, 1944, to the parentage of William H. and Zurrie Lee Green. Ms. Green moved to Tampa at an early age. She was a gradu- ate of Middleton High School, Class of 1962, where she served on the Student Council and was a member of NHA.
Ms. Green spent her ca- reer as a Supervisor with Verizon Communications for forty-two years, where she received several awards for her exemplary leadership.
Ms. Green lived a wonder- ful life, where she was fortu- nate enough to travel the world, including places like Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Mex- ico, and Germany, as well as several states. Ms. Green was a devoted Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan. Go Bucs!!
Her remains will be viewed on Friday, June 19, 2015, from 5-9 p. m. with the family receiving friends in the chapel from 5-6 p. m.
Friends are asked to as- semble at the chapel on Sat- urday at approximately 10:45 a. m. for the service.

ELIZABETH SMOTHERMAN
A memorial service for Ms. Venita Elizabeth Smoth- erman, who departed this earthly life on June 13, 2015, will be held on Saturday, June20,2015,at2p.m.at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, with Rev. W. D. Sims, officiating.
Venita leaves loving and fond memories that will be cherished with: her 2 daugh- ters, Felicia and Melody Smotherman; and son, Ak- leem Smotherman, all of Tampa; 3 grandchildren; de- voted mother, Beatrice Smotherman Shaw; 3 broth- ers, William Smotherman (Loretta) of Lutz, FL, Donald Smotherman Jr. of Bangor, Maine, and Kevin Smother- man of Clinton, MD; uncle, Dr. William Jones, Sr. of Or- land Park, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Ms. Venita Elizabeth Smotherman was born on April 1, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the mid- dle child to the parentage of Sgt. Donald and Mary Eliza- beth Smotherman.
Venita graduated from C. Leon King High School, Class of 1979. She later continued her education at Hillsbo- rough Community College in pursuit of a nursing career.
Friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Saturday at approxi- mately 1:45 p. m. for the service.

MR. WALTER REID, JR.
Homegoing services for Mr. Walter Reid, Jr., who passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015, will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 1 p. m. at Bethel CME Church, 1719 22nd Street, Sarasota, FL, with Rev. Geraldine Mc- Daniel, officiating.
Walter Reid, Jr. was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, on Oc- tober 26, 1953, to Walter Reid and Viola Mathews Reid. He was educated in the Sarasota County Public Schools and graduated from Riverview High School, class of 1971.
Walter was the only African American in his class to be a member of the Na- tional Honor Society. He also was the very first African American to give the gradu- ating speech to the newly in- tegrated Riverview High School. There were thou- sands that attended the grad- uation and Walter received a standing ovation.
He was also recognized in the Sarasota Herald Tribune Newspaper for his accom- plishments. He enjoyed sports and played varsity basketball at Riverview, where he was a star player. His senior year, Walter was voted the “Most Athletic Stu- dent” of the year.
Upon completing high school, he was awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
From 1977 to 1980, he was employed by Proctor and Gamble as a Production
Later, he received a Mas- ter’s Degree in Business Ad- ministration. Walter also obtained several licenses in the areas of Real Estate, Mortgage Brokerage, Health Insurance, Life Insurance and Foster Care.
He retired as a Project En- gineering Manager after 30 years of service with Lock- heed Martin Corporation; and resided with his wife, Ce- cilia in Palm Harbor, FL.
Walter was the founder of Super Fast Learning (SFL) seminars: memory, speed- reading and material mas- tery, for both youth and adults. He conducted these educational seminars throughout the United States.
Walter was introduced to God at an early age, and at- tended Bethel C. M. E. Church in Sarasota, FL. He understood that no one ac- complished anything all alone. He attributed his suc- cess to the support of his lov- ing family, friends and church.
Walter was the father of two children: daughter, Ayawna (who preceded him in death); and son, Nathan Reid. He was also a father- figure to countless relatives and friends, and foster-dad to five children.
Walter is survived by: his devoted wife of 15 years, Ce- cilia Reid of Palm Harbor, FL; son, Nathan Reid (Quani- qua) of Port Charlotte, FL; parents, Walter and Viola Reid of Sarasota, FL; sister, Connie Reid Jenkins of Sara- sota, FL; special nephews, Brian Reid and Corey Jenk- ins of Tallahassee, FL; step- daughters, Denetress Jones (Antonio) of Dunedin, FL, and Artisia Rice of Largo, FL; grandchildren, Keandre Reid of Browns Mills, NJ, and Eric, Ronesha, Thiland and A’Marie, all of Tarpon Springs, FL; sisters-in-law, Pamela Montgomery (Samuel), Edna Livingston (Jake), Velma Bass, Melody Bass and Annette Bass; brothers-in-law, Marcus Bass and Joseph Bass.
