MR. RAYMOND MOORE BENT, SR.
Homegoing services for Mr. Raymond Moore Bent, Sr. of Tampa, who passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015, will be held Saturday, June 20,2015,at11a.m.atSt. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 E. Chipco Street, Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr., pastor, officiating. The inter- ment will follow.
Raymond Moore Bent, Sr. was born on the Island of San Andres, Colombia (South America), on November 30, 1936.
He received Christ at an early age, and was an active member of his home church, the First Baptist Church of San Andres Island. He par- ticipated in the Royal Ambas- sadors Ministry, choir, and training union.
After high school, he mar- ried his first love, Lonica Kelly May in 1962.
He worked in the banking industry and went on to study meteorology. He also worked in the Weather Bu- reau in San Andres, Bogota, and Barranquilla, Colombia, before moving to the United States in the late 1960s.
He and his wife lived in Ohio, TX, and NY, before es- tablishing residency in Tampa.
In the late 1970s, he founded Bent Auto Sales and Bent Import and Export, Inc. From 2003-2013, he worked for Guardsmark Security.
As Raymond Sr. continued his life’s voyage, he met his
beloved friend and confi- dant, Ms. A. Faye Wingo, and together they co-parented 2 beautiful children. For the next 27 years, the Lord would allow them to raise a minis- ter and marriage and family therapist respectively, of which he was extremely proud.
He became a member of St. John Progressive M. B. Church in 1997. He partici- pated in the Brotherhood Ministry, the Men’s Sunday School Class, and the Male Chorus, of which he served as president in 2012.
He loved to work on cars and to sell them; other hob- bies included playing cards, dominos, pool, and he was a great dancer to boot! He al- ways watched the Rays and would coach from his chair.
He worked very hard after coming to this country, and was an excellent provider for his children.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Mark Bent May; and mother, Ina Reid Taylor; and seven siblings.
Left to cherish his memo- ries are: his children, Arim- inta Bent, Hope Bent-Barnaby (Kharlie), Raymond Bent, Jr., Olarte Bent, Coquette Bent, Kalee- sha Bent and Joshua Bent, all of Tampa; his grandchildren, Janae, Ayan, Kiauntae and Kharlee, all of Tampa, FL; numerous siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins; an aunt, Emolin Reid; special relationships: Joyce Walker, lifelong friend (mother of 3), and A. Faye Wingo, beloved friend and confidant; a host of best friends; special ac- knowledgement to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Tampa Rehab, and Melech Hospice House; Board of Deacons, Intercessors, Sen- ior Women Mission, and Minister’s Wives, and St. John Progressive.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2015, from 5-8 p. m. The family will re- ceive friends from 7-8 p. m.
The friend and family are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.

MR. JAMES EDWARD GRANT, III
Homegoing celebration for Mr. James Edward Grant, III of Tampa, who passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015, will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 10 a. m. at Bible-Based Fellowship Church, 8718 N. 46th Street, Rev. Dr. Earl Mason, pastor, with Pastor Steven Oliver, of- ficiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
James Edward Grant, III was born to James Edward Grant, Jr. and Dian Grant- Johnson on November 30, 1966.
He entered into his home of eternal rest at the age of 48.
He was married to LaWanda Banks-Grant on October 12, 2010.
James was preceded in death by: his grandparents, John Henry Dixon and Willie Ann Dixon; and his aunt, Elizabeth “Liz” Carter.
James or “Dee,” as he was affectionately known by fam- ily members and friends, was born in Tampa. He attended Plant High School and en- joyed participating in the school band.
The brothers and the West Tampa community played a huge part in raising him.
As a child, James began to develop a love and passion for cooking. He would often assist his mother, family and friends in the community, preparing meals for others. His passion developed into a culinary career where he shared his talent and love for
cooking. He made it his busi- ness to get the line in the kitchen going with music, laughing and joking around.
He worked for Ruby Tues- day in Valrico, FL, and the Sunset Grille in Ruskin, FL.
James was an active mem- ber of his church, Trans- forming Lives Christian Center serving as co-director of the Children and Audio/Visual Ministries with his wife.
He took pleasure in cook- ing for family and friends, watching every sport you can imagine, relaxing at the beach, and playing with his daughter.
James loved to laugh, and his favorite saying was, “If it’s free, it’s for Dee.” He had an amazing presence. Most would agree, he never met a stranger.
He was a loving and de- voted husband, father, grandfather and son.
James Edward Grant, III is lovingly survived by: his dedicated, supportive wife, LaWanda Banks-Grant; chil- dren, James Brown, Dominic Grant, DeVondre Brown, (Stephanie), James Edward Grant, IV, and Lauren Grant; parents, James Edward Grant, Jr. and Dian Grant- Johnson; grandchildren, Master Coleman-Brown, De- Vondre J. Brown, Khalyb A. Grant and DeVondria M. Brown; an aunt, Deborah Fudge; two uncles, Robert- Earl Dixon and Rev. Leon Dixon; four (three) cousins, Twanda (Sherman) Milton, Angela Carter and Rasheda (Peter) Cummings; father figure, Rudy Sanders; broth- ers for life, Rodnick Boyd, Robert Moore and Alec Muhammed; and a host of other loving cousins, rela- tives and friends.
The visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015, from 5-8 p. m. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p. m.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.

MS. RUTH BULLOCK-JACKSON
Homegoing services for Ms. Ruth Bullock-Jackson, who was called home on June 13, 2015, will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 10 a. m. at New Testament Worship Center, 5107 E. 32nd Ave., Tampa, 33619; Pastor Debbie Comellas, officiating. Interment will be made in the Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ruth, lovingly known as “Mother” by family and friends, worked for the City of New York for 21 years as a Clerical Supervisor.
In 1991, she retired and made Florida her new home. She was loved by all who en- countered her leading to long lasting friendships.
She ultimately became a member of The New Testa- ment Worship Center.
Mother enjoyed shopping, spending time with her fam- ily and friends, walking, the casino, and cruises.
Ruth was preceded in death by: her loving hus- band, Lloyd Anthony-Jack- son; her sister, Evelyn Bullock; her brother, William Bullock; her son, Robert Bullock; her daugh- ter, Vera Bullock; grand- daughter, Michelle Bullock; and grandson, Jermaine Jones.
She leaves to mourn her passing: four daughters, Ruby Jones of Rhode Island, Arlene Bullock of New York, Pauline Belton of North Car- olina, and Yvette Howard of Florida; and her three sons, Raymond Bullock of New York, Steve Bullock of Florida, and Gary Bullock of Maryland.
She also leaves behind: a niece, Arlene Kimbrough, lovingly known as “Peaches;” and a host of grandchildren, great grands and great, great grands.
The remains of Ruth Bul- lock-Jackson will repose Fri- day evening from 6-8 p. m. at Harmon Funeral Home, 5002 N. 40th St., Tampa, 33610. The family will re- ceive friends from 7-8 p. m.
The processional will arrange at the church with the Pastor and family at 9:45 a. m. on Saturday.
