Disney Tapping Angelina Jolie For ‘Maleficent’ Sequel
Angelina Jolie played the title character, Maleficent.
Disney is working on a se- quel to the 2014 live action fairytale Maleficent and wants Angelina Jolie to return in the title role.
Deadline.com reported Monday that Disney is eager to capitalize on the worldwide appeal of the first film which cost $180 million to make but grossed a total of almost $760 million globally.
The website says the stu- dio plans to keep Jolie 'in the loop' and Linda Woolver- ton, who wrote the screen- play for the first film. She's only made one live action se- quel - and that was for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, starring in The Cradle Of Life.

Zoe Saldana has taken a lot of heat for her portrayal of Nina Simone in the upcom- ing biopic Nina — at least, for her physical portrayal of the jazz icon.
Now that the film — which has been on the shelf for years — may finally see the light of day, the actress is addressing the controversy.

On Monday Variety re- ported the 53-year-old veteran actor is in talks to take a role in Lucasfilm’s Star Wars' an- thology film Rogue One, which will hit theaters almost a year after Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.
It is not known what role Forest could take. Disney and Lucasfilm had no com- ment on the casting.
