Movie Reviews/Soaps/Horoscopes
Jurassic World - 22 years after the failure of Jurassic Park, a new park is created called Jurassic World. After 10 years of de- clining sales, the owner and management (Bryce Dallas Howard) decides to manu- facture a smart and vicious dinosaur to create interest. The whole plan backfires horribly and the director convinces a dinosaur trainer (Chris Pratt-Guardians Of the Galaxy) to help find her missing nephews. The first Jurassic Park was a classic, but this film was still fun to watch. Jurassic World has the biggest Global Opening of All-Time taking in $511M. In the U. S. Juras- sic World beat out the Avenger: Age Of Ultron as the biggest opening weekend this year with $204M. Must see for action fans. ****
Spy - A CIA analyst (Melissa McCarthy) volun- teers to go undercover to in- filtrate the brutal world of a deadly arms dealer (Rose Byrne) and prevent a nuclear disaster. Jason Statham and McCarthy make a hilarious
team in this action/comedy. Enjoyed it!Made $56M. (Budget -N/A). ****
Insidious: Chapter 3 - A psychic, Elisa Rainer (Lin Shaye) reluctantly uses her ability to contact the dead in order to save a teenage girl (Stephanie Scott), who has been targeted by an evil en- tity. The first film was a hor- ror classic, but this third installment was also creepy and disturbing. If you live alone, you might want to skip this one. Definitely, not for kids. Made $37M. (Bud- get-N/A). ****
San Andreas - A rescue chopper pilot (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson) makes a dangerous journey across California in order to save his daughter from several earthquakes. The casting of his daughter was slightly off, but the ‘The Rock’ battling the devastation of earth- quakes makes this film worth seeing. Made $119M U. S. /Foreign $253M. (Bud- get N/A). ****
Tomorrowland - A teenage girl (Britt Robert- son) and a young inventor
(Thomas Robinson) embark on a mission to uncover the secrets of a place in the fu- ture. The girl runs into the young inventor who has be- come an older man (George Clooney). The two must es- cape to the future to save themselves. Special and vi- sual effects were superb, but the confusing storyline will put you to sleep. Disap- pointed! Wait for it on DVD. Made $83M. (Budget $190M). Disney might lose big on this film. ***
Mad Max: Fury Road - Action fans, this classic is what you are looking for. Di- rector George Miller (Mad Max, Road Warrior) revisits the Mad Max franchise with the best script of insane mayhem. Fast and the REAL FURIOUS. Amazing non- stop stunts and action scenes. Just flat out crazy! In a hopeless desert landscape, where water is gold, Max (Tom Hardy) and Furiosa (Charlize Theron) join forces unexpectantly to escape the evil warlord (Hugh Keays- Byrna) and Nux (Nicholas Hoult). Furiosa and Max are on the run in a War machine to her homeland. Must-see for real hard core action fans. Made $138M U. S. /Foreign $195M. (Budget $150M). ***** (classic).
