Dez Bryant Vehemently Denies Disparaging Injured Ricardo Lockette
DEZ BRYANT
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Wide receiver Dez Bryant went on a profanity-laced tirade in the Dallas Cowboys locker room Sunday night in response to a Vine video that allegedly showed him making deroga- tory remarks about a Seattle Seahawks player who had been knocked unconscious.
Late in the first half of the Cowboys' 13-12 loss to the Sea- hawks, Dallas safety Jeff Heath delivered a vicious block that knocked out Ri- cardo Lockette. Pushing and shoving between the teams en- sued, while a cart was driven onto the field and Lockette was strapped down and taken to a local hospital for a precau- tionary exam.
He never lost movement in his extremities, and raised one arm high for most of the time he was removed from the field.
The Vine was created by Marcus Sullivan, who has a verified Twitter account. Sulli- van, a Fox26 digital reporter, posted, "#DezBryant after the #Seahawks #RicardoLockette was knocked out of the game "That's what the F He gets" smh!"
In the seven-second video clip, Bryant appears to utter a profanity while he points his index finger at Seattle line- backer Bruce Irvin.
Bryant angrily denied wish- ing harm upon Lockette.
"I won't ever, ever, ever, ever wish bad on a player that's been knocked down. C'mon, man. Stop with the bulls---," said Bryant, dressed in foot- ball pants and shower shoes. "Not once did I say that's what you get. I got on one knee and prayed for that man.
"I got on one knee and prayed for him. C'mon, man. Don't put clips together and do that."

NEW YORK -- Crown 'em, Kansas City!
One agonizing step from ec- stasy last season, this time the Royals reign after their latest incredible comeback and a go- ahead hit from maybe the most unlikely player in uniform.
Christian Colon singled home the tiebreaking run in the 12th inning and those bound- and-determined Royals rallied one more time to beat the New York Mets 7-2 in 12 innings early Monday for their first World Series championship since 1985.
Down 2-0 in the ninth, Kansas City fought back in Game 5 against two of the top arms on the pitching-rich Mets: Matt Harvey and Jeurys Familia. And the Royals did it not with home run
power but instead a daring dash from Eric Hosmer, a three-run double by Lorenzo Cain, a couple of crucial stolen bases.
Consistent contact, keep the line moving.
"I couldn't have written a bet- ter script," manager Ned Yost said.
That's how Series MVP Sal- vador Perez and the Royals became the first team since the 2002 Angels to come from be- hind in all four World Series wins, according to STATS.
That's how they washed away the bitter taste of last year's Game 7 loss at home to San Francisco, an October heart- break that drove the Royals to their singular focus all season. Never waver. Win it all this time.
Le'Veon Bell Expected To Miss Season With Torn MCL
The Pittsburgh Steelers will have to wait until next season to see Ben Roethlisberger and Le'Veon Bell on the field at the same time again.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Bell is expected to miss the rest of the season with a badly torn MCL and other damage, according to a source informed of the in- jury. Bell was hurt during Pittsburgh’s 16-10 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.
This is a brutal dose of news for the Steelers, coming on the same day that their realistic chance to win the AFC North evaporated. Now they have to worry about surviving without what we believe is the best run- ning back in the entire league. The Steelers are unfortunately getting used to playing big

games without Bell. He missed the team's playoff loss to the Ravens in January due to a knee injury, and missed the first two games of the sea- son due to a suspension for vi- olating the league's substance abuse policy.
Steve Smith Out For Season With Torn Achilles
Kenyans Win New York Marathon
Kenya's Stanley Biwott and Mary Keitany swept the titles at the New York City Marathon on Sunday. Keitany became the first woman to repeat since Paula Radcliffe in 2008. Biwott won his first major marathon title after placing second in London last year. He finished in 2 hours, 10 minutes, 34 seconds, beating countryman Geoffrey Kamworor by 14 seconds. Reigning Boston Marathon winner Lelisa Desisa was third and defending cham- pion was Wilson Kipsang fourth.
Keitany finished in 2:24:25, beating Ethiopia's Aselefech Mer- gia by 67 seconds for the largest margin of victory since Rad- cliffe's 2008 title. She pulled away around the 21-mile mark to become the eighth woman to win more than once in New York. Ethiopia's Tigist Tufa took third.
Steve Smith's retirement tour was cut short Sunday in the cruelest way imaginable.
Ravens coach John Har- baugh announced that Smith suffered a torn Achilles during the team's 29-26 win over the Chargers in Baltimore.
The 36-year old announced in August that this would be his final campaign, and our final image of him will be a sad one. Smith had to be carried off the field with a towel over his face, unable to put any weight on his right leg. Just minutes prior to the injury, Smith had passed Cris Carter for 10th in career re- ceiving yards.
"He's pretty shook up about it," Harbaugh said after the game. "Shook up's not a right word. He's just really -- he's hurting."

BALTIMORE -- Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. moved into the

NFL's top 10 in career receiv- ing yards, passing Cris Carter in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers.
Smith, 36, moved into the top 10 on a 9-yard catch and has 13,907 receiving yards in his 15-year career. James Lofton, who is ninth on the all-time list, has 14,004 yards.
At halftime against the Chargers, Smith had 57 yards on three catches, including a 46-yarder.
