Pierre-Louis’s bond has been set at $97,000.
Investigators said between 2013 and 2014, Pierre-Louis engaged in a systematic ongoing fraud by knowingly allowing several people to cash checks in various victims’ names at a check cashing business where she worked. She allegedly used her position of trust as an em- ployee to facilitate at least 40 unlawful check casing transac- tions of stolen IRS checks, total- ing $142,134.
Detectives said the valid checks were most likely stolen from mail boxes from areas throughout Central Florida. When detectives tried to contact those named on the checks, some were located, some had moved and some were either bad addresses or detectives could not confirm that the per- son had lived at that address.
The investigation revealed Pierre-Louis was the only per- son seen on surveillance video assisting the people who cashed the checks.
Pierre-Louis has refused to identify the check cashers.
