The Progress Village Mathematics and Literacy Fluency Center operates Tues. and Thurs. 6-7 p. m. at the First Baptist Church of Progress Village. They cur- rently have 9 tutors, 99% have college degrees, and 50% are current or retired teachers. Classes start Sep- tember 5th.
They tutor grades K-8 in Math, Reading, Writing and Reading Comprehension, sci- ence and history. Last year 99% of their students im- proved in at least one grade in one of the core classes men- tioned above. The tutoring center has been around over 10 years.

Progress Village Nutrition Center, a place to gather, learn and enjoy a variety of free activities designed for today’s active older adults, is located at 8701 Progress Blvd., (813) 671-7773.
On Wednesday, August 30 11 a. m., - Birthday Day: come join and celebrate monthly birthdays.

Family and friends who accompanied them both to Atlanta and Los Angeles were: Marilyn Davis- Hamilton, Gail Davis-Mc- Call, Deanna Miner, Jocelynn Townsend, Aleshia Campbell, Shirley Davis, Coletta Henry, Sandra Jackson, Ruth Hires and Christo- pher Hightower. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experi- ence that they will forever cherish and remember! Also, while in L. A., former Progress Village resident, Javarro Ray and Lakeisha Michelle (cousin of the Davis family) were hosts to them during their stay.
