Last Friday, May 6, 2022, AT&T and the Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s Office (HCSO) partnered to provide STEM kits to elementary school students. The event took place at Town and Country Elemen- tary School.
These kits will be used to teach students the foundation of robotics, computer programming and en- courage their creativity. All kits con- tain a programmable robot, QR codes, graph paper, special mark- ers, school supplies, circuits and batteries for the robot. The students will use the kits to build the pro- gramming for their robots.
AT&T’s volunteer arm, AT&T Pi- oneers, collected STEM materials from across the country. AT&T Pio- neers is a network of employee vol- unteers who effect immediate, tangible change in local communi- ties.
AT&T Pioneers chose to supply the Tampa Police Department (TPD) and the HSCO with STEM kits to give to students in Tampa. Each entity then selected the pro- gram to receive the donated kits.
