MR. HEZEKIAH BEN WALTERS
Mr. Hezekiah Ben Walters of Riverview, Florida, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Funeral services will be con- ducted Saturday, June 22nd at 11 a. m. at Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, 8718 N. 46th Street, Dr. Earl B. Mason, Senior Pastor, officiat- ing, with Pastor Felix E. Wal- ters, Sr., eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
On the morning of March 1, 2005, the Lord blessed us with a bouncing baby boy, Hezekiah Ben Walters. Little did we know that “Heze,” as he was affec- tionately called by his family and close friends, would change our lives as we know it.
Being reared in a Christian Home, Hezekiah accepted Jesus Christ at a very early age. Heze’s love for God led him to participate in various church activities. He loved Youth4Truth, Men of Vision, NAACP Youth Council, Young Lions, Revealing Truth March- ing Band (played cymbals), playing drums, singing in the choir, attending Summer Vaca- tion Bible Schools, Summer Bible Retreats and participated in various plays in the commu- nity.
His educational journey began with in-home daycare at our beloved Auntie Mary G. Carson. At seven months he transitioned to Children’s Academy in Brandon, Florida. In 2010 through 2011, he began Kindergarten at Limona Ele- mentary. While at Limona Ele- mentary, he began his first-grade year, 2011-2012, and it was during the middle of that school year his musical gifts and talents were discovered, which led him to transition to Philip Shore School of the Per- forming Arts. For the remain- der of his first-grade year through the fifth-grade in 2016, he remained at Philip Shore School. He transitioned in the sixth grade to Shields Middle School for the 2016 – 2017 school year. The culmination of his middle school years were at Franklin Boys Preparatory Academy for 7th and 8th grades. Hezekiah graduated with many honors and many accomplish- ments for which he was recog- nized at his 8th Grade Ceremony on May 21, 2019. Hezekiah was excited about becoming a high school Freshman in the Fall of 2019, and told his sister, Phyl- lisity, “I am focused on attend- ing George S. Middleton Senior High School.” His love for the game of football began while at Franklin Middle School. While there, Hezekiah scored a touch- down during PE and screamed with excitement. This led to his
great enthusiasm and deep de- sire to play high school football. Hezekiah’s musical gifts and
talents were enhanced at Gwen’s School of Music, which was owned by Gwen McCree and continued at Burgess School of the Performing Arts with the Founder, Carlton Burgess. Hezekiah’s hobbies included his love for Football, Basketball, Soccer, Chess, Fortnite, Draw- ing, Grand Prix race car driving, The Gaming Academy “Van- guard Cards,” movies, swim- ming, Netflix, Hulu, and hanging with his favorite buddies: Cameron, Mason, Robert, Malik, Sean, Zaire, Chance, Jaylynn, Grant, Alex, Michael, Melik, Johnny, Lil’ Mark, Gabbie and Kiya.
On June 11, 2019, began as a normal day, with “Heze” full of excitement and enthusiasm to spend his day at USF College Reach-Out Program, taking his high school credit classes (Span- ish II; Biology Honors; Geome- try Honors; English I Honors and Florida Virtual Hope). After which, he enjoyed his favorite meal from Church’s Chicken - fried chicken, biscuits and honey. This is also the day that our dear Hezekiah Ben Walters transitioned from this life to be with the Lord.
