Justice System In Georgia County Led By All-Black Women
SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, GA —— One of the newest cities in Georgia is making history as the first to ever have its whole criminal justice system run by black women.
Indeed, the year-old City of South Fulton — now the fifth largest in the state — has a black female chief of police (Sheila Rogers), chief judge (Tiffany Carter Sellers), court administrator (Lake- siya Cofield), chief court clerk (Ramona Howard), city solicitor (LaDawn Jones) and city public de- fender (Viveca Famber Powell). Many of these women are the inaugural ap- pointees of these roles, ac- cording to the Atlanta Voice.

Ex-School Dean Sentenced To 26 Years For Attempting To Kill Student
BOSTON, MA —-A Boston high school dean and anti-vio- lence advocate known by stu- dents as “Rev” for his pastor-like demeanor was sen- tenced Friday to 26 years in prison for assault and other charges.
Shaun Harrison, 58, al- legedly boasted to students of his gang ties, drugs and guns. He recruited one of them, a 17- year-old student from a broken home, to deal marijuana in school, authorities said.
But after a dispute over slumping sales, Harrison shot the teen in the back of the head with a .380 pistol as they walked on a snowy city street in 2015 and left him for dead, prosecutors said.
Shaun Harrison was sen- tenced to 26 years for shooting a student he allegedly re- cruited to sell drugs at the school where he worked.
Except Luis Rodriguez didn’t die. He dragged himself up and flagged down a passing car. In the hospital, Ro- driguez uttered the name of his would-be killer: “Rev.”
Harrison, now 58,was sen- tenced Friday to up to 26 years in prison for attempting to kill a student he tapped to deal drugs for him.
“You professed to be a man of religion, you promote your- self as one who can mentor troubled youth ... and yet you violated their safety by bring- ing drugs and violence to them,” Judge Christopher Muse said.
Harrison arrived at Eng- lish High in Boston in January 2015, just two months before his arrest and after stints at other city public schools over about five years. He had been a community organizer and youth minister in Boston for decades.

“We’re sorry,” the Min- neapolis-based company wrote in a statement, adding “the awful posts... obviously did not come from us.”
They also said that they had been “in touch with our Twitter representatives and will pursue the appropriate action against the individuals involved.”
The tweets in question were sent on Friday (June 1) to their nearly 700,000 fol- lowers that included “the N- word, a crude comment about a “secret recipe” ingre-
