Brothers Convicted In
1 Dead, 1 Injured In Drug Related Shooting
Child Sex Trafficking Case
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that an arrest has been made in a shooting incident that left one man dead and a second man wounded.
According to deputies, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, they re- ceived a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting at the Raintree Landing Apartments, 5902 Trout River Drive.
When deputies arrived, they found one man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound, and a second man in- side an apartment, dead from a gunshot wound.
Alton Demetrius Smith, 24, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, attempted first-de- gree murder, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Detectives said Smith went to the residence of Christopher Riley, 21, with the intent to purchase 28 grams of marijuana for $210.
During the transaction, an argument began between Smith and Zayroone Tou- ssaint, 25.
Two Tampa brothers were convicted in connection with child sex trafficking charges by a federal jury. The broth- ers face a maximum penalty of life in federal prison.
Antawan Hudson, 30, pleaded guilty to all charges on the first day of the trial. Maurice Williams, 25, was found guilty of child sex traf- ficking and possession of child pornography.
According to court docu- ments and evidence pre- sented at trial, Williams and Hudson conspired to traffic underage females by fraud, force, and coercion in the commercial sex trade. The brothers are alleged to work together to post online pros- titution ads on the Internet and then transported the girls throughout Central Florida to

room, reportedly overheard the argument between Smith and Toussaint. He armed himself with a hand- gun and came out of his room at which time he saw Smith and Toussaint engaged in a physical confrontation.
Detectives said Riley al- legedly saw Smith standing over Toussaint and shot him with a handgun. He also saw Toussaint fall to the floor in the kitchen. Tous- saint was pronounced dead at the scene.
After witnessing Smith shoot Toussaint, detectives said Riley shot at Smith, who was still inside the resi- dence, and the two men ex- changed gunfire.

A witness told detectives they saw Smith and Riley fighting over Smith’s hand- gun. The witness also re- ported that Smith shot Riley. Smith then fled in his vehicle.
Riley sustained a gunshot wound to the forehead and was hospitalized. He is ex- pected to survive his injuries, detectives said.
Detectives said Smith told them he went to the resi- dence, armed with a gun, to purchase marijuana. He is being held without bond on the charges, and the incident is still under investigation.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man has been charged with second-degree murder after a woman’s body was found inside the trunk of his car.
Detectives reported that on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m., a man arrived at his residence, 6801 Thrasher Drive, and saw what appeared to be blood throughout the resi- dence. He immediately noti- fied authorities.
When detectives arrived, they interviewed the man who told them he shared the house with two roommates and they were both missing. He also told detectives about an area where they were known to hang out.

Arrest Made In Club Shooting Where Bystander Injured

St. Petersburg Police have arrested a suspect in a shoot- ing that occurred in the parking lot of the Hollywood Nights Club, 1205 Dr. MLK Street, South, on May 23rd.
Detectives investigated a report of shots fired at 2:40 a.m. The investigation re- vealed two groups had a dis- pute earlier inside the club.
At 2:40 a.m., the passen- gers in a 2010 Chevrolet Im- pala were traveling east on 12th Avenue, South ap- proaching MLK Street when someone on the street fired several rounds into the pas- senger side of the Impala. Police said someone inside the vehicle returned fire.
Brandy Griffin, 21, identified as the driver of the Impala, was shot once. His injury was considered non- life threatening.
A bystander, Shanika L. Everett, 34, had just left the club and was caught in the crossfire. She was shot in the upper body and reported to be in critical condition.

USF Police Arrest Burglary Suspect
On May 22nd, University of South Florida Police arrested Victor Manuel Guerrero- Martinez, 23, on an out- standing warrant. He was charged with burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
Through resources, police identified Guerrero-Mar- tinez as a suspect in recent burglaries that occurred at various USF buildings, in- cluding Cooper Hall, Natural and Environmental Sciences, and Engineering and Fine Arts Building.

Building and Fine Arts Studio with a large back- pack. Uni- formed patrol offi- cers found

cameras. Guerrero-Martinez has
been reportedly trespassed from the campus, and police said they anticipate more charges will be filed against Guerrero-Martinez as their investigation continues.
