MS. VERNICE HICKEY-MALONE
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ms. Vernice Hickey-Mal- one on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 4 p. m. at Integrity Funeral Serv- ices, 3822 E. 7th Avenue, Tampa, with Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr. of St. John Progres- sive M. B. Church, Tampa, offici- ating.
Vernice moved to Tampa, Florida to enjoy her retirement and be near her mother, John- nie. She also reconnected with other family members in the Tampa area. Vernice had a spe- cial place in her heart for her great niece, Brusquishia Kearns and members of her church. Ver- nice was an active member of St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, under the lead- ership Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr. and was baptized at the Beulah Baptist Church in At- lanta, Georgia in 2013.
Vernice knew and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a woman of faith and convic- tions. She had a passion for help- ing others and would donate to many causes without hesitation. Vernice never met a stranger and would engage anyone in a spir- ited debate. Her work ethics would lead her to a position of leadership within weeks and months of employment. She was a people-person and she will be sorely missed.
She is preceded in death by: her mother, Johnnie Pearl Latti- more and brother, James Hickey. Vernice Marie Hickey-Malone was called home by our Heavenly Father on July 10, 2017 at 12:05 a. m. after an unexpected illness.
Vernice is survived by: her father and step-mother, James and Mary “Bettye” Hickey of Richland, Georgia; sisters, Mil- dred Hickey of Atlanta, Georgia, Veronica Dennard of McDo- nough Georgia, and Geraldine Askew of Tampa, Florida; broth- ers, Anthony, Brian, and Ken- neth Hickey of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Public visitation for Ms. Ver- nice Hickey-Malone will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 from 6-8 p. m. at Integrity Funeral Services. Family and Friends are asked to

MR. CHARLES EDWARD SLATER, JR. ‘GOLD’
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Charles Edward Slater, Jr. who passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2 p. m. at Integrity Fu- neral Services, 3822 E. 7th Av- enue, Tampa with Rev. Dr. Patricia Hauser of Potter House Deliverance Tabernacle, Tampa, officiating.
Charles grew up in the Ybor City area where his family is well known in Tampa Park and his family resided there for many, many years. He attended Hills- borough County public schools. He was employed with Paceset- ters Personnel Services as a tem- porary employee with the City of Tampa Stormwater Department.
Charles was preceded in death by: his father Charles E. Slater, Sr.; mother, Gloria Slater; and oldest sister, Cyntrina Patrick Scott.
He leaves to cherish his fond- est memories: 3 sisters, Lashon Richards (Charles), Nicole Wil- son (Reshae) and Gloria King; 4 brothers, Craig Slater (Chaquita), Michael Slater, Rod- ney Slater (Charletta) and Kevin Slater (Demetria); grandfather, Eddie Jordan (Inez); godsister, Gloria Smiley; dedicated brother-in-law, Steven Scott; 23 nieces and nephews, Willie, Marshanna, Sable, Constance, Mercedes, Neiji, Craig, Jr., Barack, Milacia, Midasha, Mykal, Mikala, Michael, Jr., Michael, lll, Mikerious, Rodney, Kiwawn, Emmanuel, Jada, Re- hanna, Keneshia, Malick and Steve, Jr.; 5 aunties, Catherine Davis, Annett Bletcher, Daisy Randolph, Dorothy Bryant and Janice Slater; 4 uncles, Johnny Slater, Rodger Slater, James Slater and Rudolph Martin and all of the many Tampa Park fam- ilies, the Lilies, the Fagans, the Howards, Bricks, the Under- woods, the Coles and a host of relatives and friends.

MS. CYNTHIA C. JOHNSON
Ms. Cynthia C. Johnson, 45, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Home- going Services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11 a. m. at Grace Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 3901 N. 37th Street, Tampa, Elder James R. Reed, Jr., Pastor, officiating, with Pastor Tony Parker, eulo- gist. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Ms. Cynthia C. Johnson was a native of Elmhurst, New York and a resident of Tampa for many years. She was born on August 10, 1971 in Elmhurst, NY to Rebecca Johnson and William Hicks. Cynthia at- tended public schools in Hills- borough County -Robles Elementary, Greco Jr. High and King High School. She fur- thered her education at Hills- borough Community College, where she earned her Associ- ate’s Degree and became a Reg- istered Nurse and in 2016 she earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Grand Canyon University. Cynthia was employed as a Nurse Case Manager for Kepro for the past six years. She was a member of Grace Mary M. B. Church and was a member of the monthly book club and was a faithful member of the Junior Women’s Ministry.
Cynthia was married to William “Barney” Johnson, who preceded her in death and was also preceded in death by: her father, William Hicks; grandmother, Annie Bateman; grandfather, Arthur Cobb; uncle, Rea Cobb; and aunt, Dorothy Stillings.
Cynthia leaves to cherish fond memories: her loving eld- est daughter, Kimitria Everett (Randall Anderson), and her caring youngest daughter, Ash- leigh Johnson (Keionne Baines); the apples of her eye are her 4 granddaughters, Aniyah Anderson, Janiya Grady, Autumn Anderson, and Angel Anderson; devoted mother, Rebecca Johnson; 6 brothers, Yourhighness Tafari, Antonio Johnson and wife, Nikki, Reginald Hicks, Jason Cobb, Darryl Hicks, and William Brown; 3 sisters, Erica Cobb, Sonya Colbert and hus- band, Baxter, and Vanessa Cobb; 4 uncles, Jessie Bateman (Willie Pearl), Bennie Cobb (Gloria), Morel Cobb (Jacque- lyn), and Willie Cobb, Sr. (Debra); 3 aunts, Rosa Wooden (Otis), Annie Haywood, and Barbara Cobb; special cousin, Jacqueline Everett (Albert); special friend, Renee Stokes; very devoted family friends, Deacon William C. Johnson and Deaconess Estella Johnson; and a host of other sorrowing rela-
tives and friends.
The remains will repose
after 5 p. m. Friday, July 14th, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. at the Chapel.

MRS. LULA MAE VANN
Mrs. Lula Mae Vann of Tampa, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 15, at 12 p. m. at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 E. Lake Avenue, Reverend Dr. H. L. Daniels, Pastor, with Rev- erend Dr. Kendrix J. Gardner, officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Ceme- tery.
Mrs. Vann was a native of Cordele, Georgia and a resident of St. Petersburg-Tampa area for most of her life. She attended Pinellas County Schools, and was a member of New Friend- ship M. B. Church for over 30 years. She was employed as a Do- mestic/Housekeeper for several employers over the years.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Emory Vann; son, Anthony Rutledge; and sisters, Annie B. Foster and Charlene Sherman.
She leaves behind: daugh- ters, Shirley (Johnny) Crawford, Phyllis (Eddie) Faulk, and Gwen- dolyn (Demetria) Rutledge; sib- lings, Richard Blackshear, Frank (Jesse) Royal, Earlene Porter, and devoted brother-in-law, Rev- erend Lewis Sherman; devoted stepchildren, Julia and Paulette Vann; grandchildren, Velda (Eddie) Creer, Sherry Crawford, Darryl (Jenny) Faulk, Adan (Taeia) Faulk, Jenelle and Brandy Rutledge; great grand- children, Michaela, Joshua, and Grace Creer, and Ayahna Faulk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Michael J. Walton, Sr. passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017. Funeral services will be con- ducted Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2 p. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL, Reverend Bobby Dray- ton of Greater Peace and Joy Holi- ness Church, Sylvester, Georgia, Eulogist.
Michael J. Walton, Sr. was born June 23, 1952 to the late Wal- ter Walton, II and Juanita Payton Walton. He was raised in the Cen- tral Park Village Community and was baptized at an early age at New Salem Primitive Baptist Church under Reverend R. H. Howard. He was educated in the Public Schools of Hillsborough County. Michael was a loving fa- ther, grandfather and great grand- father.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Walter Walton, II; his mother, Juanita Payton Walton; and his brothers, Kenneth Wal- ton, James W. Anderson, and Reg- gie Walter Walton, III.
