Lord, Train Me To Speak Only Words That Bring Life
Lord, help me be a per- son who speaks words that build up and not tear down. Help me to speak life into the situations and people around me, and not death. Fill my heart afresh each day with Your Holy Spirit so that Your love and goodness overflow from my heart and my mouth. Holy Spirit of truth, guide me in all truth. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer (Psalm 19:14). May every word I speak re- flect Your purity and love.
Righteous lips are the delight of kings, and they
love him who speaks what is right. PROVERBS 16:13
Lord, help me to speak only words that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, ex- cellent, or praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Help me to always be able to give the reason for the hope that is within me (1 Peter 3:15). Help me to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Fill me with Your love so that it flows from me in the words I speak. May every word I speak bring life and encouragement and posi- tive reinforcement to all who hear me. Help me to speak of Your goodness to everyone.
My tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all the day long. PSALM 35:28
Lord, Your Word says that the preparations of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord (Proverbs 16:1). I will pre- pare my heart by being in Your Word every day and obeying Your laws. I will prepare my heart by wor- shiping You and giving thanks in all things. Fill my heart with love, peace, and joy so that it will flow from my mouth. I pray You would give me the words to say every time I speak. Show me when to speak and when not to. And when I do speak, give me words to say that will bring life an edification and comfort.
Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. PROVERBS 16:24
