The Los Angeles Clippers plan to sign guard Nate Robinson to a second 10- day contract on Tuesday.
Robinson was signed to a 10-day contract on March 7 to help the second unit ease the loss of Crawford who is out indefinitely with a right calf contusion. Crawford will miss at least the next 10 days before he is able to re- turn to practice, which would seemingly make the decision to extend Robinson an easy
The Oakland Raiders will give Trent Richardson his third chance to make it in the NFL, as the team announced his signing Tuesday.
Terms were not disclosed, but the former Alabama star running back will compete with Latavius Murray to be the Raiders' starting run- ning back.
Richardson struggled in both Cleveland and Indi- anapolis, but the Raiders think the 24-year-old is worth a shot.
"Physically, I think that when you get to this level, you can play it," Richard- son said Tuesday when

asked if he was surprised by Chris Borland's sudden re- tirement on Monday. "But mentally, when you sit and think about stuff or your mind is not into it that can tear you down as a man. A lot of football players don't real- ize stuff until it's gone.
VINCE WILFORK
Former New England Pa- triots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork announced Monday that he will sign with the Houston Texans.
The 33-year-old said he wanted to turn the Texans, who have missed the playoffs the past two seasons after winning back-to-back division titles in 2011 and 2012, into a contender again.
Wilfork will sign a two- year deal worth $9 million, in- cluding $5 million in guaranteed money.
"My goal is to help this team win as many games as possible and bring winning to this town," he said. "I think we deserve that, so that's my No. 1 goal."

WR Stevie Johnson Signs With Chargers
Temple University has suspended two members of its football team after their arrests in an off-campus as- sault.
Starting offensive lineman Dion Dawkins and defen- sive lineman Haason Red- dick, who played in nine games last season, were charged late Monday with ag- gravated assault.
Police say the two were in- volved in a fight Jan. 18 at a party, during which a 21- year-old Temple student was

Free-agent wide receiver Stevie Johnson agreed to a three-year contract with the San Diego Chargers on Tues- day.
The 49ers released Johnson, 28, after just one season with the team.
Johnson had visited the Chargers and Patriots since his release from the 49ers last week. In San Diego, he will help to replace receiver Eddie Royal, who left the Chargers this offseason to sign a free-agent contract with the Bears.

Former San Francisco 49ers defensive end Ray McDonald confirmed to ESPN's Josina Anderson on Monday that he plans to sue the woman accusing him of rape.
"I feel like what I am doing is the right thing be- cause I know that I am not this bad person that people are making me out to be," McDonald told reporters on Monday. "I've been fired from my job. I know some teams don't even want to talk to me because of this past ac- cusation. All I am trying to do is clear my name and move on with my life."
McDonald has been in- vestigated by local law au- thorities on suspicion of sexual assault. He has not been charged with any crime.
The San Jose Mercury News earlier reported that McDonald's lawyer, Steve M. DeFilippis, would file a lawsuit on Monday morning. McDonald has been trying to catch on with an NFL team since he was released by the 49ers in December for "a pat- tern of poor decision-mak- ing."
"In the eyes of the NFL teams, the unresolved threat of charges being filed against him, even though factually unfounded, continues to present a roadblock to this remarkable athlete being able to move forward in his career," DeFilippis said in a

Terms were not disclosed but a league source told that Shorts agreed to a two-year, $6 million deal.
Shorts, who visited with the Texans on Monday, will have a chance to start in Houston, which released longtime star receiver Andre Johnson last week.
