WILSON
MR. MATTHEW ‘ZEKE’ PARKER, JR.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Matthew Parker, Jr., will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Fu- neral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, with Pastor Greg Robinson, Officiating and Dr. Isaac Manning, Jr., Eulogist. Mili- tary Honors will be conducted by the U. S. Army Military Honor Guards. Interment will be held Monday April 11, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Florida National Ceme- tery.
Mr. Matthew Parker, Jr., aka “Zeke” was born in Tampa, FL, on August 26, 1955, to the parentage of Matthew Parker, Sr., and Janie Mae Parker. He was raised and nurtured in a Christian home in
the Progress Village community. He attended schools in the Hills- borough County Public School System and graduated from East Bay High School.
Matthew honorably served his country in the U. S. Army. His most recent employment was with the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in the Food Services De- partment until his retirement in 2021.
Matthew, being the son of a Deacon came to know the Lord and was baptized into the faith at an early age at The First Baptist Church of Progress Village, under the pastorate of the Founding Pastor, Rev. B. T. Williams. Matthew was currently a member of Revelation Community Mis- sionary Baptist Church, Tampa, FL, under the shepherding of Rev. Dr. Greg Robinson, where he served until failing health would no longer permit him to do so.
Matthew answered the call of a loving Savior and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, and is now resting in the bosom of Jesus; free from the cares of this earthly life.
Matthew, was preceded in death by: both parents, Dea. Matthew and Janie Mae Parker, Sr., and his bonus mom, Lula Mae “MaDear” Parker, along with other family members whom he loved dearly.
Matthew leaves to cherish lov- ing memories with: his loving daughter and the “apple of his eye,” Kimberly Parker; devoted
sister and dedicated caregiver, Linda Edwards-Young and hus- band Bobby; 2 brothers, Edwin Parker and Kevin (Valerie) Parker; 5 bonus siblings, Calvin Davis, Sr., Gail McCall, Jackie Davis-Mix, Marilyn (Kenneth) Hamilton and Dr. Regina High- tower and their children; nephews, Demetrius Edwards, Jonathan (Melissa) Bronner, Joseph Bronner; nieces, Tammy Haynes and Jessica Bronner; girl- friend, Debbie Lamoureux; aunts, Bertha Lee Finley and Mary Lou Parker; uncles, Namon and David Lee Parker; several great nieces and nephews; special sisters, Vanessa Williams, Patri- cia Johnson and Ada Marie Lee; several cousins including the Reese family, who were just like sisters and brothers growing up, the neighbors of Bahia Avenue, the Progress Village community, James A. Haley VA friends, LifePath Hospice Ruby Team, and a host of other sorrowing rela- tives and friends who will miss him dearly.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day, April 8, 2022, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home.

MRS. LUCILE HOLLIS YOUNG
Mrs. Lucile Hollis Young, 77, of Tampa,, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in her home with her family. A Homego- ing Celebration will be held Satur- day, April 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at New Testament Church, 11530 Walker Rd., Thonotosassa, Florida, Pastor Al Gallon with Pas- tor James Jefferson, Eulogist. In- terment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Lucile Hollis Young was born to the late Clayton and Fron- nie Mae Hollis, on February 4, 1945, in Dothan, Alabama.
She attended school in Quincy, Florida, and met her late husband, Ervin Young. She later moved to Tampa and worked four years at National Seafood and fifteen years at Singleton Shrimp Company. Her love for children caused her to pursue a career in Education. She was a dependable and dedicated employee of Hillsborough County Public Schools for fifteen years. She retired from Lavoy Exceptional Center in 2012.
Sis. Young was a faithful member of First John M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Gregory Hill and Rev. Quan- tae Washington. She remained the Church Clerk for many years and the President of the Usher Board until her health no longer allowed her to fulfill her duties.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ervin Young; daughter, Janice Young; great granddaugther, Vivika Nobles; parents, Clayton and Fronnie Mae Hollis; siblings, JT, Willie D., Eddie Lee Hollis, Dorothy, El- nora, Beatrice, Mary Alice Grubbs, and Gloria Register.
She leaves to cherish memo- ries of her with her children, Rosemary (Charles) Langston, Tangel Lamar (Shirley) Young and Juan (Desaray) Young of Tampa, FL.; grandchildren, Micheal Young, Trenika (Nick) Thornton, Robert (Krizia) No- bles, Allen Davis, Valencia (Carl) Dantes, Calvin, Joseph, Juan, Je- hiem, Sarai and Samir of Tampa, FL.; great grandchildren, Jada, Antanayja, Chloe, Alia, Mya, Sum- mer, Amari, Allen, Jr., Jaylencia, Jamere, Jayvion, Mariah, Dia- mani, Malaya and Promise; great, great, grandchildren, Ja- iair; siblings, Sarah, Equillar, Betty Hollis, Sadie Neal, Ada Pearson and Daisy Cummings and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins, other relatives and friends.
