Two Men Hit By Gunfire During Club Shooting

Ex-Police Officer Jailed On Child Porn Charges

A retired reserve police of- ficer was arrested last week and charged with 100 counts of child pornography. He was arrested last Wednesday.
According to the Tampa Police Department, 61-year- old Paul Mumford was ar- rested after the department was informed that he was in possession of illegal images of children on his electronic de- vices. The department re- ceived the information in December 2021.
Beginning in January, de- tectives executed search war- rants at both of his homes. They found child pornography on several electronic devices.
Mumford retired from the police department in Sep- tember 2015, ending a career that began in 1986. In October 2015, Mumford returned to the department in October 2015 as a Reserve Officer. He was immediately relieved of duty and terminated on Feb- ruary 15, 2022. The investiga- tion is continuing and additional charges could be pending, police said.
   Suspect Escapes
Lake City Police
 A Hillsborough County murder suspect alluded Lake City police last week, and re- mains at large.
Katrell Hubbard was wanted by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a murder that took place on July 9, 2021. He was wanted for the murder of a man that took place at the Willow Brooke Apartments on Hellenic Drive. Hubbard is wanted on one count of second de- gree murder (firearm dis- charge).
Last Wednesday, officers with the Lake City Police De- partment attempted to make a traffic stop around 7 p.m. They attempted to pull over a 2008 Chevrolet sedan driven by 26-year-old Katrell Hubbard. But the suspect refused to stop and, following

a brief chase, he crashed his vehicle at the intersection of Main Boulevard and Duval Street. Hubbard then exited the vehicle and fled north.
Law enforcement, includ- ing Columbia County Sher- iff’s Office deputies and Florida Highway Patrol offi- cers, established a perimeter and, along with the help of several K-9 units, were un- able to locate Hubbard.
Police are investigating a shooting that took place at a West Tampa Night Club. The early morning shooting left two men suffering from gun- shot wounds.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the 9-1-1 call was received at 2:24 a.m., Saturday. Officers were then dispatched to the Status Night Club, 4235 N. Armenia Avenue. When officers ar- rived, they learned that the two men had received non- life threatening injuries. However, both victims left the club before police ar- rived.
Investigating
then placed an alert to all area hospitals alerting them to the possibility that the two gunshot victims may seek medical services. The men arrived at a local hospital for treatment and police were notified. The officers made contact with them at the hos- pital. Police said that they have not determined the rea- son behind the shooting.

 Tampa Fire Rescue re- sponded to a house fire Sat- urday morning in the 2000 block of W. Beach Street. The fire was reported at 11:06 a.m. According to the Tampa Fire Department, when fire- men arrived at the scene, they found a single story res- idential fire.
The smoke and flames were coming from the struc- ture when they arrived. The
firemen said the residents had escaped the blaze with- out injury before they ar- rived.
The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes. There were no in- juries reported to the resi- dents or firemen. The American Red Cross was con- tacted to assist the residents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
