But Onzy said this is not just an event where parents can pick up school supplies. There will be live entertain- ment, food, and activities for the children such as face paint- ing, balloon twisting, prizes, games, giveaways, and other activities.
For the adults, there will be organizations offering after- school activities such as the Flawless Diamonds Dance Troop, and other afterschool programs.
A licensed doctor will be at the event offering physicals for parents. And, barbers will be
there to provide free haircuts. There will be vendors, such as the Tampa Housing Author- ity explaining programs and housing requirements as well as vendors offering services for
those in attendance.
“We are going to have peo-
ple there who can provide in- formation about many things that people in the community can benefit from and learn about. We will have all types of information available. This is not just a back to school event; it is a community event that will have something to benefit everyone who comes out. We are just asking that the com- munity comes out and take ad- vantage of this information.”

Pastor Invites All Men To ‘Father’s Rights’ Workshop
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
The issue of court-ordered child support affects many families in the Tampa Bay Area. A local pastor will host a workshop to address the issue of a Father’s Rights and an- swer some questions that men may have.
While the workshop is called a “Father’s Rights Workshop,” it is open to all members of the community. Rev. Eric W. Gallman, Sr., pastor of Agape Christian Church, who is hosting the event, realizes that there are some mothers who don’t have custody of their children and who are court-ordered to pay child support.
The Workshop will take place on Saturday, August 19th, at 2 p.m., at Agape Chris- tian Church, 4816 N. 43rd Street.
Rev. Gallman is inviting “All men, family members, and concerned citizens strug- gling with visitation (time- sharing), and driver’s license issues because of child sup- port to attend the workshop.”
Tampa Attorney Sema Yildirim will attend the Workshop as well. She said it is her heart’s desire to educate men of color about their pater- nal rights. She further said she sees so many fathers come to court without the knowledge of their rights. This workshop is designed to educate them.
During the Workshop, At- torney Yildirim will answer such topics as paternal rights, how to establish paternity, how to get help with child sup- port, how to get help with vis- itation, and many other legal
