Fraternity To Host Annual Scholarship Fundraiser

On Saturday, August 19th, members of the Tampa chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., will host their Annual Black & White Ball Scholarship Fundraiser. The event will take place at the T. Pepin Hospitality Centre, 4121 N. 50th Street, Tampa, 33610.
The purpose of the An- nual Ball is to provide an evening of socializing, din- ner, and dancing for a good cause. The proceeds from the ball will benefit the orga- nization’s scholarship pro- gram.
The evening will begin with a 7 p.m., Reception, fol- lowing by dinner and the program at 8 p.m. After- ward, those in attendance will have the opportunity to dance to the music of a live band, complete with a DJ.

Alumni Polemarch for Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc., said, “Those who attend can expect to have a good time dancing and partying in an adult environment. They can also be happy knowing they are supporting a great cause and that every dollar is going to support and im- prove the Tampa Bay com- munity. It is the signature event for our fraternity.
“This is the premier event for fraternities and sororities in the Tampa Bay community. We are moving into a much larger venue that will allow us to grow our support for our Kappa League Program and allow us to schedule more college visits and offer more in scholarships to kids.”

dents. Additionally, chapters of the organization are also on the college campuses where the students matricu- late.
The Tampa Alumni Chapter has become an inte- gral part of the community, working throughout the year to give back to the commu- nity. It has adopted an ele- mentary school, works with Metropolitan Ministries, and remains a staple in the
community.
It Annual Black & White
Ball is its signature annual fundraiser and highlights the Kappa League Program. The Program has a member- ship of more than 40 young men who are mentored throughout their years in high school and into adult- hood.
After graduation, the program continues to men- tor them through college, the military, or trade schools as they prepare to become productive young adults. In turn, the young men learn the importance of success
and giving back.
The Kappa League is part
of the organization’s na- tional Guide Right Commu- nity Initiative whose goal is to provide bridges for young Blacks to make a positive transition from teenagers to young adults.
