 Miss Bala (2019) - Young American, Gloria (Gina Rodriquez), seeks help from the police when cartel hit men kidnap her friend from a nightclub in Mexico. Gloria finds herself dealing with corrupt cops and the cartel leader, Lino (Ismael Cruz Cordova), who has her doing jobs for them in order to help find her friend. Director Catherine Hardwicke did a great job keeping this film full of action and suspense. One night in a foreign nightclub can turn into a nightmare. Must see for action fans. Made $8M-

Glass - Security guard David Dunn (Bruce Willis) uses his supernatural abilities to track psycho Kevin Wendell Crump (James McAvoy) and evil mastermind Mr. Glass (Samuel Jack- son). Director M. Night Shyamalan (Signs) may have made a mistake combining all three characters in this movie. McVoy remarkable acting 7 different personalities can carry a movie by himself. Started out fast and good, but later fizzled with the other cast getting too much film time. 2hrs/ 9mins. Still No.1 at box office- $90M- U.S./ foreign-- $111M (budget - $20M)- ***
Dragon Ball Super: Broly - Legendary Goku and Vegeta encounter Broly, a Saiyan warrior with uncontrollable superpowers. Goku and Vegeta must deal with the vicious Freza and figure out how to defeat Broly’s superpowers. Must admit wasn’t a fan from the series until I went to see this film. Big fan NOW! Fight scenes and storyline were amazing. Must see for newcomers and fans. Made $30M-U.S/ foreign- $111M ( budget-$9M)- *****classic
The Upside - Based on a true story, this drama/comedy is about a unemployed man, Dell (Kevin Hart), hired by a a wealthy man with quadriplegia, Phillip, (Bryan Cranston- Breaking Bad) and his assistant, Yvonne (Nicole Kidman). Dell must fight through the difficulties of taking care of Phillip. Director Neil Burger did a great job of mixing Hart and Cranston learning to deal with each other faults. Really enjoyed this film. This might be one of Hart's best movies. Must- see for Hart and Cranston fans. Made - $77M U.S./ foreign- $6M (budget-$37M)- ****
Escape Room - Six strangers ( Taylor Russell, Deborah Ann Woll, Jay Ellis, Logan Miller Tyler Labine) find themselves, in a $10,000 contest with deadly circumstances beyond their control. The strangers must use their wits to survive the escape rooms. Director Adam Robitel did a great job keeping this thriller entertaining. Must see for the non-stop action scenes. Made $52M/ foreign $44M U.S. (budget -$9M)- ****
Aquaman (2018) - Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) must come to grip that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. First, he must get through his evil brother King Orm (Patrick Wilson) who thinks he's responsible for killing their mother (Nicole Kidman) and the revengeful Manta ( Yahya Abdul-Matteen). Definitely surprised this DC film had a great storyline and off the chain action. Must-see for action fans. Made - $324M- U.S./ foreign-- $784M (budget-$200M)- *****
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse - Director Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey direct a fresh new animation straight out of Brooklyn of Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) who becomes the Spider Man of his reality and crosses path with other Spider Counterparts to stop evil villains who want to destroy all reality. Must admit this was excellent. The soundtrack was banging and the action was on point. Should win an Oscar for best animation. Must see for kids and adults. Made - $176M
U.S./foreign- $172M- (budget-$90M)--Classic -five stars.
