NAACP Announces Speaker, Honorary Chair For 2022 Freedom Fund Dinner
Ms. Yvette Lewis, Pres- ident of the Hillsborough County Branch NAACP, an- nounced the speaker and hon- orary chairperson for the 2022 Freedom Fund Dinner. Ms. Lewis is the chairper- son.
This year’s dinner will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, 7 p. m. (dinner), at the Tampa Marriott Water Street. The meet and greet reception starts at 6 p. m.
The theme for this year’s event is “This Is Power.”
Ms. Terrie Daniel is the Honorary Chair, and Pastor Alan Harris of Beulah Bap- tist Institutional Church, will be the keynote speaker.
“The Freedom Fund Din- ner, our sole annual fundraiser, is an important event which allows the Hills- borough County Branch of the NAACP to continue working with other organizations and businesses to address the needs of our community,” stated President Lewis. “Our focus is in areas that im- pact the well-being of children and their families, such as ed- ucation, health, employment, housing, justice, and the ad- vancement of opportunities for success.
“Our objectives are accom- plished through our pro- grams, which include ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics), Youth Works, and the Empowerment Center,” she continued.
Honorary Chair, Terrie Daniel is the Assistant Vice President of Supplier Diver- sity at the University of South Florida. As the inaugural ap- pointee for this position, Ms. Daniel is responsible for the development, direction and management of the Univer- sity's Supplier Diversity pro- gram.
Prior to joining the Uni- versity of South Florida in 2017, Ms. Daniel was the Deputy Commissioner of the State of Indiana Department of Administration, where she served under the administra- tion of then Governor Mike Pence as the lead primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all supplier diversity initiatives for the State of Indiana.
She is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Tampa Bay’s premier leadership develop- ment program, Leadership

Tampa class of 2023, she is a member of the American Con- tract Compliance Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and continues to serve many non-profit organiza- tions as a volunteer.
Ms. Daniel received a Bachelor of Science in Mar- keting and Computer Infor- mation Systems from Ferris State University and a mas- ter's in Contract Compliance from Morgan State Univer- sity.
Keynote Speaker, Pastor Alan Harris, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, commenced his preaching ministry at the age of nineteen and has served in full time ministry since he was twenty-two years old.
Pastor Harris graduated from John E. Lewis High School (formerly Robert E. Lee High School) in Spring- field, Virginia. He then ob- tained his B. A. in Biblical Studies from Washington Bible College in Lanham, Maryland. He further matric- ulated at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where he obtained his Masters of Di- vinity (M. Div.) and Masters of Theology (Th. M) Degrees.
Pastor Harris recently finished his Executive Masters of Business Administration at Virginia Union University.
Believing the gospel is to be heard to “the ends of the earth,” Pastor Harris has been afforded the opportunity to preach in Austria, Toronto, Kenya and Haiti.
Pastor Harris is also a strong advocate for social jus- tice matters, he is also a mem- ber of the NAACP.
Pastor Harris has the distinct and signal honor of serving as the Lead Servant of the historic Beulah Baptist In- stitutional Church in Tampa, Florida. Since the beginning

of his tenure (December 21st 2021), both online and in per- son attendance has increased significantly, new ministries have been implemented and improvements to the church’s facilities have been made.

Pastor Harris has also in- tentionally emphasized the importance of Beulah being actively involved in the com- munity. To that end, Beulah has officially adopted an ele- mentary school in the com-
munity and taken part in var- ious projects which minister holistically to the individuals in the community.
Pastor Harris is an avid sports fan who also enjoys traveling and reading. Pastor Harris acknowledges he has been tremendously blessed by God and he considers family one of God’s greatest bless- ings to him. He has been mar- ried to the lady of his dreams and lifelong best friend, Joy L. Harris for 16 years and they are the proud parents of their beloved son, Isaiah Alan Harris.
