Fish Fry Fundraiser Set For Charter School

The New East Tampa Academy is striving to be- come a leader in the educa- tion for young Black children in Tampa, with special emphasis on those living in the East Tampa community.
On October 9, 2022, the school will host a Fish Fry Fundraiser for the commu- nity to help the school reach their goals of new computers and enhancing educational enrichment programs.
The fish fry will be from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. For a do- nation of $12, attendees will eat hot delicious fish and be entered in the raffle
for a 50” Smart TV.
The fundraiser will take
place at the school. The ad- dress is 4309 N. 34th Street, Tampa FL, 33610. For ad- ditional information, the school’s number is 813- 816-2100.
Local community leader, Marvin Knight, owner of Marvin's Oriental Fish Company, will serve up the fish.
“I try to do everything I can to help the community. I grew up in East Tampa and I want to support the New East Tampa Acad- emy,” stated Knight.
Shari Wade, whose grandchildren attend New East Tampa, emphasizes how important the fundraiser is, “The kids love

their teachers and the staff at New East Tampa Acad- emy. We need to make sure that we support a school for our kids that keeps them excited to go to school.”

School principal, Dr. Ronald Anderson, states “The younger generation is impacted by their learning environment, economic status, choice of school, mental and physical health. These are the devel- opmental years for New East Tampa Academy, and we are here to provide stu-
dents with the best educa- tion in Hillsbo- rough County. It is time to rebuild on the roots of com- munity, the redevelopment of culture and the support of all stakeholders. I strongly believe ‘It takes a Village.’ If this generation fails, it is because we have failed them.”
