COMMUNITY LEADERS UNITE TO OFFER SAFE SUMMER SOLUTIONS
On Wednesday, community leaders, school officials, elected officials, law enforcement, city, and county representa- tives came together to discuss creating safe environments for children and teenagers during the summer. The group united to make parents aware of available options within the community to help ensure safety for the summer. Com- munity leaders and parents have expressed concerns about safety as the end of the school year approaches and the summer begins. The group held a news conference in the Hillsborough County School District Auditorium in downtown Tampa. Among those attending the news conference were from left to right: Daniel Smithen, member of Men of Vision, Marquavius Hamilton, member of Men of Vision, Mayor Bob Buckhorn, School Board member Doretha Edgecomb, Jamal William, member of Men of Vision, Henry Tillman, member of Men of Vision, and Ross Anderson, Hillsborough County educator and founder of Men of Vision.
