REV. MOSES ELIJAH FREEMAN, JR.
A celebration of life services for Rev. Moses Elijah Freeman, Jr., will be held Saturday, April 11,2015,at1p.m.atSt.MaryM. Church, 1840 W. State Road 60, Plant City, FL, 33567, Rev. Dr. Shafter E. Scott, Senior Pastor, presiding; with Bishop Eric J. Freeman, eulogist. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL, 33513.
The Rev. Moses Elijah Free- man, Jr. was chosen and called by God from labor to reward on Saturday, April 4, 2015. He was born in Marianna, FL, on Sept. 5, 1935, to Moses and Marie Katherine Freeman.
He is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Maggie Brinson. He is a product of Jackson
County Training School and a distinguished graduate of Florida A&M University, with an earned degree in Sociology. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He is also a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country dur- ing the Korean conflict.
He faithfully pastored the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church for two decades and upon retir- ing, continued serving as Pastor Emeritus. Rev. Freeman also re- tired from the State of Florida having worked in Juvenile Jus- tice, Mental Health, and the De- partment of Labor.
He was famously known as “the community ambassador of education,” tirelessly dis- tributing books, literature, and various other educational tools. He was a GIVER!
He leaves to cherish precious memories: his beautiful wife of 44 years, Debbie Freeman; three sons, Manuel (Debra) Freeman of Miramar, FL, Bishop Eric (Coleen) Freeman of Columbia, SC, and Terrance (Rachel) Freeman of Jack- sonville, FL; two daughters, Apostle Shelia (Charles) Cun- ningham of Seattle, WA, and Dr. Yvette Freeman Rowland of Killeen, TX; fifteen grandchil- dren, Kenya, Versa, Christo- pher, Jamal, Jasmine, Malik, Kristal, Channing, Bernard, Tyné, Jordane, Evelyn, Teryn, Patricia and Lyndee; four god- children, Patrina, Joshua, Jason and Whitney; a special niece, Dana Bright Washing- ton; two sister-in-laws, Clydeana (John) Willis and Dr. Roselle Ceasar; three brother- in-laws, Tommye Weather- spoon, David (Carol) Weatherspoon and Donnie Weatherspoon; a stepmother- in-law, Kathryn Weatherspoon, and a host of great grandchil- dren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The viewing will be Friday, April 10, 2015, from 5:30-7:30 p. m. at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 106 S. Morgan St., Plant City, FL, 33563.

MISS BETTY JOANN LEE, a.k.a., JO JO
Homegoing services for Mrs. Betty Joann Lee, who passed away on March 27, 2015, will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 11a.m.atNewHopeM.B. Church, 3005 E. Ellicott St., Tampa, 33610, Pastor T. W. Jenkins, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Miss Lee, known to her many friends as Jo Jo, gradu- ated from Middleton High School, and was a long time resident of the Central Park housing community. She was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor T. W. Jenkins.
Sister Lee had a beautiful voice and could really sing. She had a van that she would use in the service of the Lord. In Feb- ruary 2015, she won a Sunday School Perfect Attendance Award for the last two years in a row. She was retired from the Tampa Tribune.
Mrs. Betty Lee was preceded in death by: her father, Lucius Lee, Sr.; mother, Debell Lee; stepmother, Ella Mae Lee; grandmother, Beatrice Preston; and an aunt, Roberta Scott.
She leaves to cherish loving memories with: brother, Lu- cius Lee, Jr.; sister, Sharon Lee; stepsister, Mary Hawkins; nieces, Latrease Hill, Natalie Lewis and Felicia Lewis; nephew, Kendall Lewis; and a host of cousins and friends, in- cluding her New Hope Church family.
The visitation for Miss Betty Joann Lee will be held Friday evening, April 10, 2015, from 6- 8 p. m. at Harmon Funeral Home, 5002 N. 40th Street, Tampa, 33610.
Friends of Miss Betty Joann Lee are asked to assemble for the processional at 10:45 a. m. on Saturday at the church.

MRS. BERTHA MAE ‘TINA’ WIGGINS BATCHELOR
Mrs. Bertha Mae “Tina” Wiggins Batchelor passed away in Riverdale, Georgia, on Thursday, April 2, 2015.
Celebration services will be Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 2 p. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 North Howard Av- enue. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bertha Mae Wiggins was born on May 20, 1945, to Rufus Lee Wiggins, Sr. and Novella Monroe Wiggins in Williston, FL. She was later joined by sib- lings Althea, Rufus, Jr., Alvin, Glen, Larry and Constance. As the “Big Sister,” Bertha, a.k.a., “Tina,” was ever the “Go-To Caretaker” in the family.
Tina grew up in West Tampa on Spruce Street. She was bap- tized, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as a child, and loved and lived for Him her entire life.
She attended Howard W. Blake Senior High School, graduating in 1963.
In 1965, she married Billy Batchelor. They moved to De- troit, Michigan, with their daughter, Donna K. Dennard Batchelor.
Sears was her employer, but stewardship and social change was her passion. She tirelessly committed to diverse causes: Precinct Delegate, Volunteer for the Blind & Disabled, Head Start, PTA Representative and countless other community service oriented tasks.
In 1974 Bertha and Billy wel- comed their son, Kenyatta Blair Batchelor into the world. She loved helping Donna and Kenyatta in all their very busy life experiences.
An international traveler, she visited over 20 countries. She loved shopping, cooking, family gatherings, concerts and plays. Yet her greatest de- light was her children, grand- children, family, friends and loving on everyone she met.
On April 2, 2015, Bertha transitioned this life sur- rounded by close family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her late husband, Billy Batchelor; her father, Rufus Wiggins, Sr.; beloved sister, Althea Walker; and grandpar- ents, Nathaniel and Leola Monroe.
Cherishing her memory are: daughter, Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Donna K. Batchelor-Coleman, Esq. (Craig); son, Kenyatta B. Batchelor (Kelly); mother, Novella Wiggins; grandchil- dren, Styron T. Born January 15, 1940, in Little Rocky, FL, to the union of the late Mr. Willie Britt, Sr. and Mrs. Lillian Britt.
Mrs. Cassie M. Jackson at- tended Gilmore Academy and Jackson County Training School in Marianna, FL. She later moved to Tampa, where she was employed for many years for Pan American Clean- ers, and as a babysitter for the West Tampa community.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie Sr. and Lillian Britt; a brother, George Britt; and her husband, Willie Lee Jackson, Sr.
